Anyone can preorder something but that doesn't always mean they will buy it in the end. They could just as easily change their mind and not go pick something up and cancel their preorder (not all preordered items need or take money down from my experience).

If Australia is anything like here, there will have been a deposit placed on the console. We will find out in the next few days what the PS3 sold.Â
