UK PS3 sales drop, mooooooooo

After three weeks of improved sales for the PS3, the status quo seems to have been restored once again.

PS3 sales last week plummeted back to where they were before the price cuts and the launch of the 40GB model.

Sales of the Xbox 360, in contrast have held pretty steady in the last few months, an average of around 11,000 sold a week.

The PS3 now nestled back into its former postion in the sub-10,000 group.

It seems like the only console system that is really selling outside the US is the Wii.HarlockJC

LOL...looks like all the home theater enthusiasts purchased the last of the 60gig players.

total VG charts ps3 sales are 2month old anyway.

now thats a shame. in fairness to sony, they did bring the price down by a fair bit. its definately more reasonably priced now imho. they still need to get the exclusives sorted though and there advertising is absolutely rubbish over here (im assuming the UK and ireland are getting the same adds). there still trying to sell it on the hardware and features (to quote roughly "a machine that thinks faster than u do" and "blu-ray games"). that kind of promotion is going to lead to a bad time. there was a TV spot there a few weeks ago that i saw on dinternets that focused alto more on games. that was far more impressive imho. dont know if its UK bound though. sony should get the bravia marketing team on PS3 duties.

they definately do have a big fight on their hands though. they need to get on the markets good side again.

360 also outsold the PS3 in Japan for the week since the price drop. This is not good news. But on the other hand maybe Sony will make it even cheaper AND INCLUDE B/C so I can buy it for FFXIII.Blackbond

the 360 is doing good in europe not the best nor better then Wii but still doing good. but with SMG and brawl comging soon right now Wii will be on top for a long time.

good think there was a price drop in america this week so it should even out of sell even more
