"Incidentally, Killzone 2 "remains the highlight of the series" regarding week one sales figures. Killzone 3 is Sony's 14th best first-week seller; Killzone 2 is Sony's fifth."
It lost to Killzone 2.

Really I thought the controls were much improved and still retained a somewhat weighty feel. The SP campaign was actually fun with big over the top moments that kept it interesting compared to KZ2's which was just plain boring. I think sales could be more affected by how people were dissapointed with KZ2 being the "Halo Killer". KZ3 is a lot better game than the overrated KZ2.

Derp. Killzone 2 was never hyped to be as such. Just this one journalist craving for attention who decided to call KZ1 it...and he sure as hell got the attention.

yes but if Killzone 2 is so great like cows were saying to us, wouldnt people be clammering to its sequel?? why would it need a ton of hype? if it was such a great game it'd be established...more people would have brought it, not less. i mean 5th to 14th is a hellavah drop. seems like people played KZ2, thought it sucked, and didnt bother buying KZ3.

Sorry but KZ2 was hyped before the ps3 even came out. remember that imfamous trailer they put out in 2005? Although KZ2 came out looking way better than that, it was hyped up for 2 years. Not consistently of course.Derp. Killzone 2 was never hyped to be as such. Just this one journalist craving for attention who decided to call KZ1 it...and he sure as hell got the attention.

Pretty much my guess.Of course we know it was hyped, it just wasn't hyped as some Halo killer, that's just a phrase some delusional fans hang on to.Sorry but KZ2 was hyped before the ps3 even came out. remember that imfamous trailer they put out in 2005? It seems to be selling worse than kz2 there. Those controls hurt more than i originally thought.MFDOOM1983
well You right. but it did the same numbers as LBp2 for week 1
Still think BS looks more fun. just waiting for the PC demo to see if my PC will run it. but i will by KZ3 when it comes down to £20. i remember KZ2 fell in price pretty quickly
That's what I'm doing. I had it preordered but I didn't like what they did to the MP. Plus I still need to buy LBP2.Still think BS looks more fun. just waiting for the PC demo to see if my PC will run it. but i will by KZ3 when it comes down to £20. i remember KZ2 fell in price pretty quickly

Pretty much because Cows aren't the real world. Cows are a group of fanboys on a forum just like Lemmings, Hermits and Sheep. What fanboys here claim doesn't mean much in the real world. Isn't that why in every 360 has no exclusives thread posters here respond by saying in the world world exclusives don't matter too much when there are mutliplats that 360 owners can play also?Killzone is nowhere close to the level of Halo sales wise period. It's not even on the level of GEOW or Fallout (Unless you want to compare PS3 sales only for Fallout 3) sales wise.its pathetic that u comparing killzone 3 to a new IP if anything it should be compared to halo ,gears, fallout and other big franchise sales.

I didn't say that Killzone 2 was never hyped at all. I mean it was never touted as a Halo Killer.
Very good, im loving the online, havent touched the story mode yet, been getting lots of messages on PSN on how easy it is to platinum the game
Killzone 2 was a good game, it kind of felt unique, the last mission was really epic
from what ive seen and been told about KZ3, its call of duty with better graphics, but ive just rented out KZ3, so i will try it
KZ3 SP > KZ2 SP
KZ2 MP > KZ3 MP
My opinion, seems to be a general consensus among KZ2 vets as well.
RavenLoud
I think the MP is better in KZ3, personally. Some KZ2 "vets" miss custom playlists (which they're patching in) and server lists, while ignoring all the positive changes to the game.
The only thing I'm really finding disappointing right now is the clan system. They changed it 'cause of exploiting, but I like the old one better.

I also find the MP on Killzone 3 is much better than Killzone 2. love the controls in KZ3
from what i have seen every FPS releasing now will be called a cod. Its more like CoD with balacned weapons, perks, and vehicles really and of course its team basedKillzone 2 was a good game, it kind of felt unique, the last mission was really epic

Personally, I think the only real improvements were the new controls, the removal of spawn grenades. Everything else I can live without (or dislike). Also seems like the custom playlists are only for private games between clans. Curse you matchmaking :x[QUOTE="Wasdie"]Yeah, no doubt. Its shocking, right?A long awaited console exclusive beats a averagely hyped multiplat. Couldn't see that one coming.

Curse you matchmaking :x The only people complaining are the KZ2 vets especially clan people because GG removed a lot of clan features that were in KZ2. The only thing I dislike is that KZ3 has worse maps than KZ2. The KZ2 maps were just really good because they only focused on Warzone and not Operations, Vehicles etc. The TSP are actually better because it creates advantage points w/o being overly cheap like how people would just drop spawn nades next to an objective .... all hell would break lose. In KZ3, if your getting owned ........ attack TSP's with tacts and turn the game around. Although I do miss in game squads, which I think they should bring back because it promotes teamwork which is essential in KZ.[QUOTE="RavenLoud"][QUOTE="Pug-Nasty"]Personally, I think the only real improvements were the new controls, the removal of spawn grenades. arent the KZ2 vets the people that should have been catered to with the sequel though? why are people acting like GG abandoning their loyalist and ignoring what they liked and wanted isnt a big deal or 'alright'? they game is good, but bad. ps3 games get so many free passes here, it's ridiculous lol.

Game squads and custom playlist removal is just beyond me. I don't understand why GG took so many steps back from KZ2 when they obviously have the talent, the budget and the passion to do better. Otherwise, KZ3 MP is great, above avg no doubt. However, it falls a bit short from KZ2. Kevin-V said it in his review, the MP took a step forward and two steps back. All hail Kevin-V :P
at this point you have to say Killzone 3 is a failure, it could of been so much bigger and was hyped to be. flatout1976Damn, after a week we're determining if games are successes or failures?
