Really? I only see them once in a while. It's usually all about graphics threads, flops, news, and troll threads.

There's just something very characteristic about Nintendo music. It never really sounds generic. Metal Gear Solid is the only thing remotely close. Perhaps the first two Halo games as well.

I'm playing Uncharted 2 at the moment. The music is great. In spots it is amazing. However, it could easily be mistaken for any random flick a lot of the times.

Classic music is never generic (like the original Sonic music, so good!), and I also like Uncharted 2 and Halo music, but they never really "hit" me like ICO and SOTC music does.

Brawl's soundtrack is one of the best this gen.

Super Smash Bros was also good, sadly I don't own a Wii so I don't know any specific songs, but I did play it a lot at my friends place and the music (and gameplay) was engaging. I still hate the Gamecube controls though, it feels so awkward.

No, but I want to buy it badly! :( I just have too many games to get since Uncharted 3 and Skyrim are my top priority, but after that I'm going to get the collection for sure. I've been meaning to play it for a long time now.

If Handhelds were involved, the PSP would beat all consoles as well with the best soundtrack with Dissidia 012 and KH BBS.bbkkristian

I like the Uncharted theme, so I voted PS3.

But on the other hand, Halo also has an awesome soundtrack. Hmm.

PSP/DS own consoles and PC when it comes to OST's this gen.

But Oblivion, Tales of Vesperia, and Final Fantasy XIII (to an extent) have the most memorable soundtracks imo.

"Suicide Mission" from the ME2 soundtrack was really top notch though, but that was the only song that really stood out in the game.

PS3.

If we were talking all gens, Nintendo. But with a mix of GoW, Uncharted, ad Infamous,the PS3 has it this year. And don't get me started on the PSP music.

Xenoblade has an amazing soundtrack. One of the best OST in an JRPG.

Keep posting those soundtracks :) I'm going to go off for a bit, but when I'm back I'll add them all to the list! It's getting pretty darn long :P Include the names of your favorite songs too since it makes it easier to pick out the ones that are great in the games OST.

Easily the Wii. You can't top Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Sonic Colors, Super Smash Bros., Metroid: Other M (even though the game itself sucks), Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, if you want to count Twilight Princess, and most likely Skyward Sword too. The only other memorable soundtracks that I enjoyed that weren't on Wii were Mass Effect's and Halo's.

Because XVision seems to be putting so much effort into this thread, let me contribute to most sides! ;)

Anyways Super Smash Bros is...cheap to use. Hands down it has the best soundtrack no contest sure, but keep in mind its a collection of some of Nintendo's greatest work throughout their history, including some pieces from MGS and Sonic the Hedgehog. Final Destination still counts however, because it is an original piece :P

As far as Nintendo goes, I'd say Midna's Lament/Blizzeta Boss Theme/Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess. (As my favorites)

As far as Microsoft goes, that sad music you hear everytime somebody is about to die in Halo Reach comes to mind.

I can't speak for Sony as I do not own a PS3 yet.

KH, Zelda, FF, Mario and Sonic games have the best music.

Oh, I did forget about Mad world. Awesome soundtrack, funny the rap in that game is infinitely better than mainstream rap.

I get that a lot :P everyone here loves the Gamecube controller, I guess I'm one of the select few that can't get used to it. I like the clicking noise it makes when you press the bumpers though.

Yeah I love MGS4's ost :)

Castle in the Mist in ICO beats everything IMO. I just can't get enough of that song, but it's definitely not a song for everyone.
