Poll Ultimate Zelda showdown! (60 votes)
Out of the three which is your favorite? These are usually in the top three of the Zelda games. I know people like others better.
The poll is for just these three though. What say you SW?

Probably go with A Link To The Past. Overall though I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass the most from the series, mostly good pacing, fun exploration and works exceptionally well for a game that basically has a single touch control, perfect bedtime game.
The weapon breakage in Breath of The Wild is simply not fun and serves no other purpose than to break the flow of combat with continual pauses. Nintendo fanatics like to make out it adds some incredible scavenging and managing resources, no, it's just annoying. By Oblivion Bethesda realized this and Skyrim scrapped it, and was all the better for it, the best thing they could do with the upcoming sequel is drop that shit like a bad habit. Another quibble with the UI, which is borderline unreadable.
Ocarina Of Time starts with a quick 20 minute dungeon, then for the next hour or sop the game has Link run across the map from one point to another doing errands, it's incredibly boring and the only gameplay part (sneaking into the castle) is mediocre stealth section that feels out of place. It gets better later but the opening is very, very weak.
A Link to the Past is still my favorite, but I have not played BOTW, although I did play Ocarina and Wind Waker I still prefer the 2D masterpiece. Such a tight and focused experience, not one part of it feels unnecessary. One of the best 2D games ever.
I haven't played BotW, but the influence OoT had on gaming cannot be overstated. I can't see any game having that kind of impact again.
Minecraft? Probably had more impact.
I refuse to vote, all three are my favorites. Plus Wind Waker. BotW is my fave game ever made, but I can't let myself vote against the other 2.
A Link to the Past very closely followed by botw...weapon breakage was the clincher..I find it annoying in botw. :P
For me the choice is pretty easy, BotW, by far. I'm not really into the series, but I really love BotW
I love Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild and Ocarina of Time/Majora's mask.
I replayed Twilight Princess HD remake and I didn't expect it to but it became one of my favorite Zelda games ever. The humor in the game, the story in that game, the ending, the dungeons. It was all great in TP.

I see a lot of complaints about weapon breakage but honestly, it was required. If you found a strong weapon that didn't break, you would never use anything else. Also, having everything breakable adds to the survival aspect of the game, so its 100% justified and a good mechanic as far as I'm concerned.
Link to the past over breath of the wild. It’s a much tighter game, and micro positioning aspect of the combat keeps it more engaging than the “better looking” but ultimately mindless combat of ocarina n botw.
Ocarina isn’t anywhere near that good. People who gas it up have way too high of an opinion of their child hood or are vain. You get over it’s technical achievement and it’s gameplay isn’t even remotely worth gassing up. The combat was is basically binary, the dungeon puzzles aren’t worthy of any praise sans like the water dungeon, and the bosses are pushovers.
Plus the games pacing is all over the place. Botw could use more depth, but it’s a far far more compelling game than the ocarina lineage. You know if you like things like games and not cheap parlor tricks.
It’s tough to pick which one I hate least. I find the series terribly boring with massive flaws in each game.
ALTTP is outdated garbage. I could argue it wasn’t even good when it first released.
OOT is just boring.
BOTW has game breaking weapons that break making the game super annoying and pointless to play. It defeats the purpose of playing video games. Why would I waste my time on a dungeon to get a rare weapon if it breaks in 3 hits?
This makes the player feel like garbage and basically tells you to just face ganon ASAP because you won’t have any better weapons anyway.
