UMM.. Where is Firmware 2.40?!? Im getting nervous!

WOW, wasnt it suppose to come out tommorow or something and sony nor any other site has even mentioned it all within the last week or so.. Im starting to get worried, ive gotten my hopes up so freaking high time and time and again for ingame xmb only to be let down everytime! I feel once again that FW 2.4 is slipping away slowly and its something that will never happen

I thought that firmware 2.40 is just a rumour?

2.40 is confirmed but no release date. Hopefully tomorrow.

You can only blame yourself for getting your hopes up. Sony have never said it will be released tomorrow or any other day.

Sony never said anything about a release date.

Like usuall sony will tell us a few days before it is released.

The only things we know for sure:

The 2.4 system update is coming soon.

PAIN has an announced update for June. Part of the update is to allow custom soundtracks. Which is also a rumored part of the 2.4 system update. Are they tied together? Sure.

MGS4 comes out on thursday. There is a known part in the game that allows for custom music. This could be done (same with Pain) just like is was done on High Velocity Bowling and others, no system update needed. But they could also have the 2.4 update tied to this to have it run better.

So, it appears we may have the 2.4 update this week. But that's merely a guess. I am more confident it will be here by the end of the month. Antyhing other than that is a guess/speculation.
