So yea, VF5 getting a 8.1... Lemmings are claming ownage acting like something HUGE happened like MGS4 being annoucned for 360 or something of that nature.. So a overrated game in a genre thats near dead (referring to VF5) getting a alright rating is Considered ownage?!? :::Scratches head::: And if memory serves me correctly didnt 2 360 exclusives that where hyped high AA get bad ratings as well. Lost Planet 8.1 and Crackdown 7.8. Im just confused I guess, so run by me again how VF5 getting a AA rating is considred ownage! Especially considering how VF5 is also coming to 360 as well. Basically my point is, if you consider that ownage then you have another thing commin lemmings. Until Motorstorm gets a 6-7 rating, or MGS is announced for 360, or DMC is announced for 360, or Killzone flops, etc etc, I wouldnt be claiming ownage.
nope not damage control.. Quite honestly im a cow yes but im not taking either side in this one. Cows should have known better about Hyping VF5 AAA with no online and considering the fighting genre is near dead and on the same token lemmings claiming ownage for something like this is a bit much.
Pretty decent scores for original IPs. Not to say 8.1 for VF is bad or anything.. far from it. Seriously though, VF5 was suppose to be "one of those games" that helps elevate the ps3, rather it still leaves it medicore and not really worth purchasing.
Though no one really hyped it, I believe its still a pretty decent blow. A large well known franchise with a huge fanbase following and the game flops. Almost into 'A' territory.

I for one hyped it AAA but in November when I played the MP demo of Lost Planet I changed my hype to AA.

I usually don't hype games, because games that are hyped have a habit of flopping, but I actually guessed LP would be a low-mid AA. Crackdown I didn't even hype, although it does in fact look fun.

Difference is yes all three games didn't get great reviews (CD, LP and VF5) but the 360 already has plently of great games, PS3 is limping behind waiting for it's first AAA.

Can I just make a benchmark that lost planet was hyped AA? Only the crazy people hyped it AAA. That was no flop for that reason. It's funny really, gamespot underrates 2 games causing two flops here. These games probably both deserved better.

Not that it matters, I stayed up til 3 in the morning playing that game. I knew I had a client meeting at 8 and I couldn't stop playing. Yeah the game has flaws, but it is a whole lot of fun to play. Isn't that what games are about?

VF was hyped AAA. In fact most of the PS3 games were hyped AAA, because of the awesome grpahics, cell and blu-ray. Even Gundam was hyped AAA before it fell of the radar. Remember those is it or isnt real footage threads. Even the amination was bad then. LP hype didnt fall after bad reviews. LP hype reached AAA after teh E3 demo. Had teh game come out around that time, it would have been a AAA. What happened, Gears and a little thing called high standards. Something 360 has, but other console doesnt seem to. There also seems to be a big double standard on 360 games. Simple 360 games arent allowed to be praised or score high, yet on other systems its praised and ok. Bottom line VF5 was sent from the future to prove the power of the cellz,. Sent back to help the PS3 get its 1st AAA and show how trully power the PS3 was. IT FAILED. Next Motorstorm, from the wreckage of the Japanese release. This was enhanced and upgraded to complete the task that VF5 failed in. The big question will it too also fail. Stay tuned to findout.
