Time for them to step aside for the last great game of the year Assassins Creed II.
Only a matter of times before the reviews start showing up and show how ridiculously good this game is.
Don't let this one pass you by , it's definitely a must by.

Assassins Creed will be a good, very good in fact, game but it will not stand a chance against those three in my opinion
I'm iffy on it. I'm not buying it but gamefly just sent it out to me so I'm going to play it.Time for them to step aside for the last great game of the year Assassins Creed II.

It has a chance IMO. I have been impressed with what I have seen.
I still think Dragon Age is the best game I have played all year. However, UC2 is rather revolutionary, and the more I think about it, with its graphics for consoles, that it will be GOTY.
Sorry, but the fact that it's from Ubisoft guarantees that it won't be a contender against games like Uncharted 2.
From the gameplay videos, I get a mediocore-type vibe
THe first one left a very bitter taste in my mouth, promising me freedom, when I was doing what was essentially the EXACT same thing for 8 hours.
Don't know what Ubisoft you're talking about, but the one I know has an extensive librairy of amazing games.Sorry, but the fact that it's from Ubisoft guarantees that it won't be a contender against games like Uncharted 2.

[QUOTE="TREY_FOR_LI4E"]Don't know what Ubisoft you're talking about, but the one I know has an extensive librairy of amazing games. Ubisoft tends to disappoint me. All of their games have a lot of promise but they always find a way to screw it up. For example, AC1 was too repetitive, PoP too easy, Far Cry 2 had too much travel time and little issues, R6V1&2 are too repetitive, and Graw2 too short. I'm renting it. I actually think that outside of Sony published games, I own more ubi games than another 3rd party publisherSorry, but the fact that it's from Ubisoft guarantees that it won't be a contender against games like Uncharted 2.

Did you just call uncharted 2 revolutionary?
Anyway, im not too sure about AC2, ubisoft seem to be ruining franchises with sequels this gen.

If that doesnt warrant 'revolutionary' idk what does....

Assassins Creed II will suck like the first one did. First game got good score, sold well but it sucked anyway :?

Such as.... ??
Assasins Creed 2 will be good but up against the likes of Uncharted 2 I doubt it will be Game of the Year.
I love Uncharted and Uncharted 2 will probably be my GotY but it's not really revolutionary; it's just refinement and perfection of the last 10 years of game design.[QUOTE="jyoung312"]

I meant revolutionary in terms of how far it pushed graphics on consoles, not the gameplay mechanics as much.
Agreed. I think Ubisoft has better chance with the next Splinter Cell game. Uncharted 2 will still blow away AC2 and Modern Warfare 2 will still outsell it and be played by more people when it's all said and done.Assassins Creed will be a good, very good in fact, game but it will not stand a chance against those three in my opinion

i played assasin creed 2 already in the gaming explosion fest in PR and it wasn't anything specialfer212007
Wow...what games are special to you then.

Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia? All higly rated series. The counter system was too easy. It made it feel like the game was on autopilot. They combat in AC1 wasn't very deep, but two looks better in terms of combat.Too bad people have no taste in story and probably sucked at Assassins Creed Counter system. Go back to Mario 54 please. lol

[QUOTE="MonsieurX"]Didn't even bother playing the first onekingman03Same with me. The second one doesn't look all that great imo. More of the first, but with a few tweaks and some more missions.
Sad... the first game was very good. This looks to be better by all accounts.
I doubt anyone will have to step aside. If anything, AC2 will be in line with the Batman AAs or KZ2s of this year as far as reviews go. Heaps of praise like a Bioshock or Uncharted 2...you may want to lower your expectations to spare yourself the disappointment.Time for them to step aside for the last great game of the year Assassins Creed II.

Aren't we forgetting about DJ hero? I have played UC2, and I have CoDMW2/AC2 coming in the mail for this week. I believe that DJ hero is the best game I have ever played. It's simply amazing.Time for them to step aside for the last great game of the year Assassins Creed II.

i have a feeling AC might be a semi sleeper hit. while the first one did great it seems not many people are paying attension to the second one. imo all AC2 needs to do in order to be amazing is have more assassination missions and less of those stupid sidequest/errands

Everything they have released this generation has been mediocre.

I can see that you didnt play it. The game is getting an enormous overhaul. It makes the first one seem pretty outdated already and thats just judging from the 40min. gamespot preview.
I agree with most though. While it will undoubtedly be my most anticpated title that has come, it really doesnt stand a chance against those 3.
A lot of people who bought the first one felt disappointed by the hype overall. I think AC2 will do well, but not as well as Ubi would like. If anything it will probably have pretty good lifetime sales, but will take a while to get there.beekayjay
Indeed the 1st one disappointed. But it was a very ambitious game. Ubi has learnt alot since then and has made this game so much better.
