Uncharted 2 The Most Over Rated Game Ever ( SPOILERS !! )

I just dont see how Uncharted 2 got so much praise. It was a brilliant game and a 8.5 or a 9 in my opinion but alot of people ( Fanboys ) call it the greatest game ever. Not only that but even the praise it got from reviewers and the GOTY awards. The game was good as I said before but it had flaws. To start with the story just plain sucked. I mean who was Lazarivich and how did he find out about Marco Polo's treasure ? What made him so evil ? Why did Flynn betray you ? Why did Chloe help you ? All of this is unexplained and just leads to a generic revenge plot with a cheesy ending. The story is just an excuse to go to different locations around the world. It didnt continue anything from the first game. You are supposed to feel emotion for Schafer but he is a Nazi and he only has about 3 lines of dialouge. It was such a waste of voice actors and talent. The gameplay was incredibly linear and generic. There was no point in having platforming in the game if it was that restricted. The shooting mechanics are no different from any other third person shooter. The online is crappy, buggy and takes long to get into a match compared to other games. Overall it was a generic shooter and a Tomb Raider clone with not a spec of originality and an extremely bad plot. Like I said earlier I thought the single player was fantastic but not perfect.

It's not the greatest game every, but it's an extremely good game, even without the online component. To me, the game is worth full price for the single player alone. Great gameplay, great graphics and great story.

So the most over rated game ever is only .5 below the score it actually got to you?

yea its a little overrated but nothing like MGS4

id give UC2 a 9/10 no doubt tho even tho even thoi didnt really care for the mp cuz the sp was great

No I think it got what it deserved.

The only person I've ever heard say that it's the best game ever is Adam Sessler from X-Play but nobody takes him seriously anyways. I do agree that the plot wasn't very good, though it did have good voice acting and some funny moments. The game is linear, but Naughty Dog was aiming for a cinematic experience and that's exactly what they got, and the platforming was there because it helped with the game's pacing. If it was a simple shooter were you spent ten hours clinging to a wall and popping guys in the head the entire time it would get old pretty fast, which is why they added platforming, puzzles, and some simple stealth elements to help break it up.

I don't think it the most over rated at all

my fav games needs swords like god of war ninaj gaiden bayanetta etc. i hav uncharted it good looks amazing but the gunplay is weak. he shooting does not feel good tho i love the camera angles alot of the time the camera changes to a position making the game looks like a movie.

Only issue was the lack-luster final boss battle as well as cover system being a bit frustrating.Ringx55

At least itt was better than the final boss from the original UC.

your avatar shows us exactly why you feel this way. great gameplay, shooting and puzzles, great graphics and an actual interesting story. plus the numerous GOTY awards. i can make the case for halo being overated because its just cover your target with a circle and shoot over and over and over again.

The 1st one is overrated, but the sequel, meh, not really.

It's very highly polished in every way and the story is an improvement on the original. The platforming adds variety and works well. Not overrated IMO. Guess it just didn't do it for you.

I agree completely. This game was really overrated.

I enjoyed it but it did drag on a little towards the end.

I try to stay away from casual garbage so I wouldn't know but I have noticed this trend with other PS3 games.

It's definitely not the greatest game ever, but it's one of the best PS3 games available and was arguably the game of the year. Yeah, it was definitely GotY.

I came in here ready to completely disagree with you.... but then I read your reasons for why its over-rated, and I actually agree with you. But none of those reasons made me enjoy the game any less.

It's probably in the 30s in the list of best games I've played this gen

the game derserved a 9. it was such an imrpovment over U1 but the game still more of the same .... so i give it a 9.

It is my favorite game this gen. I have put over 150 hours into the online portion alone. The single player I loved and the pacing was perfect. My only gripe is that I felt it was easier than the first one.

I felt one was a solid 9.0 and two was a 9.5.

EDIT: Although Uncharted 2 isn't the greatest game ever, its a pretty damn good game and one of the best this gen.
