Uncharted 2 Will Not Require An Install

Good news for anyone who is getting tired of most PS3 exclusives requiring an install.

I don't really care whether or not there will be a mandatory install, since if there is I'll just be able to load the game faster. But obviously its still good if there is no installs at all. :)

well this could go either good or bad for this game

it could be good because you wont have to wait for it to install, but it could be bad because you may have to deal with more savage load times then normal with games like that.

It clocked in at about 1.3GB, but it was definitely worth it overall.

oh, yeah it might be IDK though its got such amazing graphics and stuff I imagined that it would have similar loads to Assasins Creed.

Well I got used to installing games on consoles this generation mondatory installs for PS3 and and full game install on 360 to get rid of the noise.

mandatory installs dont bother me at all. To be honest i actually favor mandatory installs...great example would be infamous......2 min install time and absolutely no load times through out the whole game. ReaperV7

If U2 is like U1, there will only be one load time with no install.

Well it's good to see that UC2 will not require an install. It's a shame that any game requires an install! This never was an issue until xbox 360 if I'm not mistaking. I remember playing disc games since Sega CD and Turbo Grafx 16 and they all ran fine without installing. To me this is a stupid thing they have started and it's costing us gamers extra money for hard drive space, what a shame! Not to mention the installs are like 3gb on average, what's up with that!? 10 games, that's 30gb just on installs, tisk, tisk. Gamimg companies are going more the pc route instead of the console route. I commend Nintendo for not following in this trend! Good job big N.

It isn't thread worthy. Only fanboys argue over installs.

This is a good thing? Coming from the PC, I would much prefer to install the game to a faster hard drive and have both a faster loading game and a longer lasting optical drive. Bonus points if I don't have to disc swap every time I want to play a different game.

you have to swap the disk for the PS3 games reguardless of the installs.

Installs don't bother me at all because I have a 250GB hard drive, but I didn't really expect Uncharted 2 to have one, seeing as the first Uncharted didn't.

I don't see how it makes such a difference. Even if it did all the more better if the game runs better than awesome. I always install when given the option so it really doesn't bother me.

Thats great new, that means I can just pop the baby in and have some fun.
