This topic is locked from further discussion.
So if it hits 91 it will have the same as Reach.
Congrats to ND though i loved UC3 SP (not as much as UC2 though).

I see that Skyward Sword has a 98 meta.

So did SS :PReally? I know it's personal preference but the 3rd was actually my favorite. I really enjoyed learning more about Drake and Sully. It made Drake feel a lot more human in my opinion. I also liked having a female villain. So if it hits 91 it will have the same as Reach.

Nobody here said Gear3 and Forza4 suck though :? I don't think Gears 3 sucks, it is just a different game then U3. It is annoying it gets compared b/c it is a 3rd person shooter, but they are very different with very different focuses and goals. U3 is way beyond Gears in terms of story telling and experience, but Gears offers 4 player co-op, with that which adds a lot. Both multiplayers are also fun and unique in their own ways. U3 and G3 are both great, but for different reasons. You are ignorant if you think otherwise. I personally don't care for race simulators like Forza 4, but that doesn't make it a bad game. I know this is a tangent, but I am using SW as a forum right now lol. People need to move on from "oh this scored higher so it must mean the other game sucks." That is immature and stupid. Know what games you like, and what games you don't. Just b/c a game isn't exactly what you like, DOES NOT mean it sucks. Granted some games are abysmal, but in most cases what I stated is true.[QUOTE="navyguy21"]
Yep, Gears 3 and Forza 4 suck with their 91 average. The difference in quality with a 91 and 92 is HUGE :o

So now metacritic matters on GS? Cause U3 only got a 9 here, just in case anyone forgot. todd2rit does matter. because more reviews>one review.

Oh fanboys... If Metacritic helps their argument about a higher rated game they use metacritic. If Gamespot helps their argument about a higher rated game they use Gamespot! I don't see the point. They lose the argument in one way or another.
Yeah it's even more sad when using MC backfires. SS is higher.Oh fanboys... If Metacritic helps their argument about a higher rated game they use metacritic. Yeah it's even more sad when using MC backfires. SS is higher.Yeah I know. People on these forums need to realize this stuff isn't important. You know society has gone to hell when you see people degrading others for liking a console more than the one they like. It really is sad.[QUOTE="randomguy15"]

I'm not actually mad.
Most reviewers review specifically for the very mainstream audience which is also the audience this game targets.
Rented it, beat it, and I'm moving on. The 93 on Metacritic doesn't do much for me. I'm not going to brag about playing a 'rental' to my friends, but I might recommend it to them if they have a night or two to kill. With Christmas and Thanksgiving coming up they should have some free time.
lol righttt so if I have a bunch of qoute on qoute unreliable reviews that are counted on metacritic then it means something? ... so ur saying gamespot is the only reliable review? lol fail. no gamespot is as unrelaible as they come. but you just made that statement that more reviews are superior to one review which means this is always the case...but last I checked you can go through for most games and find reviews by sites you personally call questionable most often reviews you didn't agree with...since htey are counted doesn't that mean its all nullified by those unrelaible reviews?[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"][QUOTE="sethman410"] it does matter. because more reviews>one review.sethman410

So did SS :P But U3 came first :P anyhow I still like U3 more, but 2011 wasn't a great year anyway.Y'know, it used to be at a 94. And Gears 3 and Forza 4 have more reviews than Uncharted 3. Which means we might see more reviews come in for Uncharted 3, and if this downward spiral continues we might just see it tied at that awful, pathetic, lowly 91. Such a shame.
If that happens, I'm sure cows will then try hide behind IGN's score.Y'know, it used to be at a 94. And Gears 3 and Forza 4 have more reviews than Uncharted 3. It still has 21 reviews less than Gears 3. Not to mention it's already lower than Gears 3 on GameRankings.

It's silly to point to an average review score before all of the reviews come in. All those sigs of 94 > 91 are pathetic. It's clear that the average consensus among the reviews is that UC3 and Gears 3 are pretty equal in terms of quality. Some places differ in opinion, but if there's one thing to notice it's that both games practically have universal acclaim. But for some reason cows are butthurt about UC3's scores and Lemmings are fine with Gears of War 3's scores despite both games scoring lower than their predecessors. Kind of interesting. Regardless, I'm still waiting on Skyward Sword. Forget these stupid third-person shooters. :P
So now metacritic matters on GS? Cause U3 only got a 9 here, just in case anyone forgot. todd2rI'm pretty sure it's been explained quite a few times... Metacritic scores are, and have always been, usable here. By anyone and everyone. In all kinds of arguments. EXCEPT for the Metagame, including the Official SW Spreadsheet of A-AAAA exclusives, and the Official SW Hype/Flop status of games. Logically, for making a general statement like "X is the highest rated/most critically acclaimed game," it makes a lot more sense to use MC or GR than to use just a single score. Likewise for making a comparison between two games. Random guys opinion has less weight than professional journalist who is recognized by the industry for giving an opinion has less weight than an agregate of many professional journalists recognized for their opinions.

OK.
But what's the point if Uncharted 3 scores less than Gears 3 on GameRankings, but scores more on Metacritic? What's the difference in reviews that they filter? At the end of the day, GR and MC are sites with random guys trying to figure out who is recognized, so we end up right where we started.
And again, highest rated exclusive is a 3DS game, people. Not a PS3 or 360 game.

Hey, I'm not here defending the thread topic, weighing in on it one way or the other... I've just seen todd basically the same thing in several different threads lately, going on about "Oh, cows use MC scores now because Uncharted's MC is higher, blah blah blah..." and as I said, it's been pointed out that MC scores have always been usable here, UNLESS we're talking about flops/metagame tally. As for GR vs MC... Since they aren't being used for anything official, like flops/metagame spreadsheets... it doesn't really matter. Use whichever you prefer. Or use GS. There's no rule. You might say "Game X is higher than Y on GS!" And I might say, "yeah, but Y has a higher MC!" and Joe whoever can say "but they're the same on GR!" and we're all right. I'm pretty sure the industry (publishers and such) tend to pay more attention to the MC than they do GR or any singular site, but they're all valid for discussion here.
Whats the 3ds game you're referring to, btw? I thought people were trying to claim SS was the highest (with its 4 whole reviews).

I'm not trying to argue with you here. I'm just curious as to what the point of these aggregate sites are since they end up deciding who we see. GR, MC, GS, whatever. If we're talking about scores there's a certain bit of fun to be had with the metagame, so whatever.
As far as the 3DS game, I'm referring to the remake of Ocarina of Time, sitting at a 94 right now. Skyward Sword may have a 98, but its only at 4 reviews, Ocarina 3D has over 80. And at the moment is the highest-rated exclusive. If we don't count Ocarina since it's a remake than the highest rated exclusive is one of the iOS games sitting at 93. Regardless, the highest rated is not Uncharted 3 unless we focus in on just consoles.
