Uncharted all but confirmed, new Jak to use same engine?

Naughty Dog all but confirmed a sequel to Uncharted, saying if they don't do one right away you can count on one in the near future.

They also hinted at a new Jak and Daxter game, and said they would like to create it using the Uncharted engine.

lets just hope that the new J&D game ditches the wannabe GTA-style gameplay and shooting bits in favor of something more like the first game: platforming through beautiful vistas and tropical forests. the uncharted engine is perfect for that!

thats why gta's cover system is much worse than gears? right? because when you sprint and bump into a column, you go into cover against it? A single context for running and cover is pretty damn annoying.

so am i. Gta uses 2 different buttons, one for cover, one for sprint. geow uses a single button for both cover and sprint. I was simply making the statment that it is good to have 2 different buttons so you dont end up covering against random that you bump against

I thought Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was one of the best game's of 2007. That's saying a lot with games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3, CoD 4, and Crysis coming out. Everyone knows that Uncharted is a franchise but I doubt we'll see Naughty Dog's next project be Uncharted 2. They're a small studio and only work on one project at a time. I'd like to see a new IP, but I'm pretty sure we will see another Jak & Daxter. They worked on the Jak IP for the entire life of the PS2. I really doubt they will just give it up.

Uncharted was one of the first games I looked at and said, "this is the reason I got a PS3."
