10 hours of greatness >>>>>> 30 hours of repetition.

But I guess we can stop hearing about how Blu-Ray will make games longer, amirite?

Dreams-Visions

thats assuming its greatness -- and even if it is, 10 hours without multiplayer just isn't worth it to me, esp seeing this game has been confirmed to be linear and scripted. if it was like crysis / farcry on PC and things were a little bit random it might make it more excusable...

Every played God of War?  Kameo?  GRAW?  All of those are well worth the cost of entry.  None of them are near 20 hours.

i've played all of them, God of War I dont like -- too teenage-boyish for me. Kameo was ok, and if you do all side quests and unlock all achievements it takes well over 20 hours, unless you're a freaking pro. GRAW has multiplayer.

next.

10-12 hours = Twice the length of Gears of War. Or if you were going by my friend's experience (who beat Gears in 4 hours) then it'd be 3 times as long. So Lemmings, you got nothin.

themyth01

You haven't even played Uncharted, if devs say 10-12 hours it means 6-8 hours. Such a short game without online component, PS3 has nothing good.

At least PS3 games wont get ported over to the PC, say goodbye to all your exclusive franchises like Gears of War lemmings, cause all your favourite games will wind up on the PC or get launched on the PC at the same time (like BioShock will be and C&C which was launched earlier).

nooooo! say it aint sooooo whyyyyyyy+

Beats having a game drought and nothing to play for months. And you also forget xbox360 gets PS3 exclusives now too.

Owning a Wii and DS has kept me content since Christmas time, plus I have plenty of GC games that I still have not finished like Paper Mario and Tales of Symphonia. Once I have the extra cash I will be picking up a PS3, and by then there will be more good games worth buying.

no need in debating with you.  you'll just say "I don't like that game" to every game I'll name.  your agenda is clear.  Just be sure to stick to that when the next great 360 single-player only game is under 15 hours, okay?

Whats wrong with 10-12 hours?  I haven't played many games that went beyond that.  For one I beat Gears of War and it took me 8.5 hours to beat it.  Now thats short, but to tell the truth I was hearing how Gears of War was really short, but to tell the truth length to me was satisfying.  Never did I think to myself that it was too short.

Seriously you lemmings need to get a grip why would this game need to go beyond 12 hours?  I beat resistance in 14 so whats the problem with this one?

How would they know how long the game is when it's not even close to finished yet?

Btw to all of the stupid xbots in this thread, GeoW was not 10-12 hours long. I beat it on Hardcore my first time through it in about 8 hours. And that was only on my first time through.

But in Kameo you could run in any direction you want, im a bit dissapointed that Uncharted is like Gears only runing in one direction and no exploring, i don't really like that, at least Alan Wake will be different.

 1. It's from IGN, who here actually believe what IGN says? They are bunch of ****.

2. It's not even finished yet, it's a PREview, not a REview.

I guess lemmings are feeling so threatened by PS3 second generation games, that they will try anything to make PS3 and Blue Ray look bad...

That's because 95% of Sony's 1p exclusives are far to banal to put on the PC. What PC gamer is going to shell out money for a 12 hour game with no multiplayer or mods?

True enough I guess. Still though wait for UT3, there will be plenty of mods and maps, and lemmings are going to be the poor suckers who will have to shell out money to play the game online and extra cash to get the maps, and UT pretty much is lame unless you are playing it online. Most shooters are not more then 15 hours so there is no use in complaining about the games length, yes Uncharted should be longer but hey, its a shooter, Gears was 8 hours tops with online but seriously the single player was not all that great in my mind, just like UT's has always been. It also depends on which method of play you prefer, online or offline, Uncharted should at least have a multiplayer offline component.

PC gamers who don't mind playing games such as Sims.  Then again, even that had mods, but even so I know there are always PC gamers who wouldn't mind getting a few console games but don't want to spend the money on a console and vice versa.  High on the "wanted on PC" list will probably be games along the lines of MGS4, Final Fantasy - hell, even Ratchet and Clank.  Why?  The PC doesn't get enough quality RPGs that aren't made by  Bioware or (the now defunct) Black Isle, and while they may have FPS games in the bag they don't have many TPS.

Now if you minus 2 hours from Dev's inflated length you get... 8-10 hours long.

The power of BR!

ssbfalco

At least FF XII will be long...

All RPGS are long...just becuase you have to level up a lot :S

I don't know about any 360 games, but RE4 was a good 20 hours long. Devil May Cry 3 and Ninja Gaiden were longer than that too. MGS3 was somewhere around 15 hours, unless you skip all the cutscenes and radio chatter.
