What does Soul Reaver 1/2 remasters have anything to do with Sony? Those games are coming to PC and they have never been part of Sony to begin with.

Frankly, I'm surprised they're even remastering Soul Reaver to begin with. And I'm sure that fans of those games are happy to finally see that series resurrected - and perhaps a sequel if it sells well. What I don't dig is when Sony "remasters" a game that's not even needing a remaster. :/

@kvallyx: Dang it. I was just about to post an article saying how Halo Infinite not only broke even, but is generating quarterly revenue for MS (and has been for a while, now).

Sony has been having a disgusting behavior in the later years (Astro Bot being the exception).

Saying this, its not Sony the culprit when it comes to the remake/remaster epidemic. Gamers are. They keep buying older games they've already played years ago for a premium price just because they're shinier. And I'm also a culprit in some cases

BUT I also never gave full price for a Remake/Remaster. I can count on one hand the remakes/Remasters I bought, and all of them were below the 25€ mark so they definitely arent making much money from me. Most of them were also of games I never played and my comment was aimed at those that double or triple dip on a game they've already played in the past

But yeah, you do have a slight of a point. I should give the example and I probably will never buy a remaster of a game I already have played

The nature of all of this is that whether you buy it full price, half price or sometime later, you are greenlighting the behavior. Publishers know this based on the success of other remasters. You are correct, that gamers are the ones at fault. Companies simply feed the desires of the gamers, and some desires are not good for gamers or the industry.
