Underrated gem this gen.

Hi there, I'm stevo the gem digger, I'm now trying to uncover some gems for my PS3, I've heard many valuable gems are hidden and buried underneath the overrated rocks, can you help me?

.... translate as.... does anyone suggest me some underrated PS3 games?

Heavenly Sword is pretty good. Not sure how popular it is though.

• Valkyria Chronicles
• Ninja Gaiden Sigma
• Everybody's Golf: World Tour (or Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds as it's known in North America)
• Infamous

All of those are solid titles which you can't go wrong with if you ask me

Beat me too it, Heavenly Sword is definately underrated. More so by cows, its like the second it came out and didnt score AAA, they completely forgot about it and moved onto Uncharted.

I would also say Persona 3:FES/Persona 4. Not interms of review scores, but more so inrecognition.

Heavenly Sword BY FAR! I play it again sometimes just because the story and actors are so darn good. Better than Uncharted.

Also, Eye of Judgement. That's a great game. So much fun playing with my Wife.

And Shatter. Best Brick Breaker game I've ever played. The music is also the best soundtrack next to Stardust HD.

If you think it sounds like something you might not be into you'll most likely be wrong. Availability might be a problem though. I remember when I tried to buy it and just barely succeeded.

I get the impression that few people bothered to get impressed by this. At least very few people bring it up. Along with Valkyria Chronicles it is honestly one of the best games available for the PS3.

If you've got one of them PS3's featuring backwards compatibility you shouldn't miss out on great PS2 games just because they're PS2 games. Because remember the "great" part of the previous sentence? That still applies.

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction got a 7.5 when it deserved at least an 8.5. Underrated it is. majadamus

I can't think of anything all that low profile. In terms of exclusives Valkyria Chronicles is a bit of a faviourite around this board despite lowsales. Demons Souls may be the same, but the diffrence is people are hyping that quite alot, and we don't really know if it will be a commercial flop. Heavenly Sword gets mixed reactions, but I personally loved it. It's pretty cheap now so give it a shot. If you don't mean exclusives exclusively then Mirrors Edge is an excellent game to check out, highly underated, though like HS, with mixed reactions.

Disgaea 3 (if you havent played ANY disgaea game)

Valkyria Chronicles (depends if you like strategy games like Disgaea, if you don't like thinking too hard and have no patience at all, dont buy disgaea and this)

Dead Space (multiplat, the best horror game yet this gen)

Mirror's Edge (VERY SHORT, but totally refreshing. around 5-6 hours, once you've completed it youre never gonig to play it again)

Batman (awesome game.)

if you know japanese, Wangan Midnight is better than those NFS crap.

That game used to have a huge hype train. It was in Nintendos E3 2005 conference with that bald DJ i think? Yeah after it flopped, it pretty much ceased existing but before that, i would say it was the DS equivalent of Loco roco interms of recognition.

Despite that, i loved the game and it is very very good. This is also the first time i've seen someone mention it since 2005. Nice.

EDIT: Big whoops. I was thinking of the Nintendo DS game electroplankton, did a quick search and saw elefunk is a PSN game released last year. Disregard everything i just said :P

I bought a ps3 slim just 2 days ago. I also got my self copies of both mgs4 and kz2, the 2 obvious exclusives that i couldnt resist and yes they are both awesome.

I need some more exclusives though, what would you reccomend. LBP is not my thing, r&c seems like a kiddie platformer, i played hs before and didnt care for it either. I can live without infamous. Whats left? uncharted? i was pretty underwhelmed by the demo. There doesnt seem like there is a lot on the horizon that is up my street tbh. Heavy rain does look cool though.

I might just play the 2 games i have to completion and sell it on.
