unfair graphical comparision ps3 vs 360

No problem man, there is plenty of guys with a brain that will understand --developped with the 360 as primary console--

I don't believe so, 360 fans will name so so game as top and Sony fans will list so so game as graphics king. It just doesn't work.

Ok, gamespot say the 360 is still a very little better than the ps3 on the multiplats. That's unfair to compare only the multiplats because a lot of them are developped for the 360. You need to look at how good all the games look and compare them. Of course it's very hard to compare exclusives, but then we all know the PS3 would win. With the last 360 exclusives that look so-so, they just cannot compare with uncharted, ratchet and clank, mlb 08 the show, gran turismo prologue, etc, etc. Ok, gears of war look great, but there are not enough great looking games on the 360 to say it's better or even equal to the ps3.cramoisi

You just sound like some disenfranchised fanboy that will say "compare exclusvies to see which will come out on top!"

Yet, not only is it "hard to compare exclusives" its impossible to compare them. The graphics comparison states that its all multi-platform, and there is a reason why the 360 is the lead platform in most of the multiplat cases.

Its not rocket science. Ask yourself "why would they develop for the Xbox 360 first then port over to the PS3?"...then when you come to that answer, ask yourself if you would rather have a gaming console that is developer friendly over one that isnt. Nevermind if it the PS3 or 360...its a simple question to ask. EVERYBODY will go with the former rather than the latter

It's almost impossible you're not beeing sarcasting, but I will answer anyway, maybe you are just a bit slow and I respect that. So it's because of the installed base. THere are more 360 sold because it came one year in advance. And also the PS3 is new to programmers, even now in 2008, some find it easier on the 360.

Well the 360 will almost always have the edge in multiplats because the simple facts are:

- The 360 is easier to program for and thus needs less development time (see Oblivion which looks and runs abit better on the PS3 but had way more time to improve as the base was already there).

- The 360 is still a monster when it comes to software sells and the bulk on come from it so it gets the most care (there are exceptions of course).

When it comes to exclusives the PS3 has and will have a slight edge in graphics.

The Installation is for faster load times, the larger disk space is for mostly uncompressed audio. 360 is the base console right now, there's no point arguing that, games look better or equal to ps3 versions and gears is an amazing looking game. But PS3 is technologically surperior and should be the new standard. Unfortunately devs gotta make money and 360 is the cheaper system to work with.

The comparison wasn't unfair at all, it's just taking advantage of whole 360 dev kit situation console gaming is at right now.

Again Gears is a better game, but Uncharted looks much better.

Actually, almost all games, except a few like MGS4 don't even come close to filling up filling up a Bluray disc. So stop being a typical PS3 fanboy and learn the truth. The PS3 gets bad ports because its still way too complicated.

And PS: I'm still on my first 360, and I've had it since launch.

Like it or not, he's right. I prefer Gears over Encharted. They both look crazy though, nitpicking is useless. And maybe I'm just being bias towards the chainsaw...but god I love that chainsaw.

Umm... What? The majority of reviews have stated that Uncharted is the current console graphics king. And if you're going to compare graphics scores, you must remember that there was I believe a year difference between them both, standards obviously change.

Umm... What? The majority of reviews have stated that Uncharted is the current console graphics king. And if you're going to compare graphics scores, you must remember that there was I believe a year difference between them both, standards obviously change.

both games have a pretty good replay value (more in Gears) but as far as graphical aspect goes, Uncharted blinds Gears with its glare

Multiplats are used since they are supposed to be the same. And it is very easy to compare identical scenes.

It is impossible to compare exclusives, are there is nothing to compare it to that is on the same level. It is like comparing movies. For the most part, it is purely preferential.

I don't much really care which system has more power because each one has specific exclusive games I want for it, but in all honesty all I read here is "I'm a sore loser who is in serious denial about what the professionals have to say so I will search for whatever way I can to bend the truth so that it fits my arguement the way I want it to. The comment that i didn't like from GS was in the GTAIV comparison the say "if we have to choose we go to the 360 version" i think that is something that you don't have to say in such web site like GS and for such a little difference, it makes me think that GS prefers the 360 for everything, and that's something that i don't want in reviews.
