Unfortunately Killzone 2 not going up against Gears 2 really makes me know that

I could've sworn they chose that release date for Killzone 2 is because they didn't want it to interfere with Resistance 2 sales.

well thanks for the holiday share says Microsoft. If the game was a contender it would be up against Gears 2. Its been too long in development, you better hope the gameplay pans out.

Not true. Sony actually came out and said that the only reason for the delay was so that it didn't get added to the clutter of releases this holiday. I think Sony felt a lot more confident in Resistance 2, so they threw that out there against the tough competition.

Seriously, how far do some people have to dig? I didn't realize that the gaming world revolved around Gears 2. While Gears 2 will be a great game, it is not the only game out there.

And just so you know, the release date for KZ2 was made for development cycle reasons, and Sony does not want to have sales being stolen away from Resistance 2.

I agree but 10 years is debatable for games, it will always be a blu ray player, so maybe.... but whatevvverrr to that because the 720 will have been out in 2010. so I dont know I dont wanna talk next gen, the 360 really is winning this gen against Sony, considering everything, and its getting to that point where it isnt too early...... Even if Sony doesnt win this generation, who cares? There has been a time where Ninty lost, and theres been a time when Microsoft lost too(First console was a flop), so if Sony loses this generation, who cares? They won with Ps1 and Ps2, and maybe now Ps3 is their time of getting hit in the face....or is it? Who knows, but once the generation is over, only the we can tell, and you can stop with the fairytale thinking with Xbox 720 coming out in 2010, dont expect that any time soon. The 360 aint even been pushed to the limits in any way.

And to counter your argument, what big exclusive does MS have coming to open the 2009 year?

For your orignal post, Sony has too many 1st party games coming out this year as well as a bunch of 3rd party games. Sales should spread evenly for these games.

Killzone 2 was most likely pushed back for extra developement time. Sony could afford to do that given that SOCOM: Confrontation and Resistance 2 are being released in October and November.

It actually may work out well for them considering January-March are "dead" months and Killzone 2 has some hype surrounding it.
