What good do you think will come from it? Perhaps more consistent looking games, and better looking games?

Games that will attempt to look good but fail.....littleman1992
That depends on the developer, not the engine used. The Unreal Engine will just make things easier, lets hope.
I think the dev's right. Check out his first few words from that interview.
'It wasn't us, it was Ubisoft! [laughs] You know, actually, commercially, it's probably not worth it to be honest. And I don't mean that as anything against the Wii, but the Wii is an improved evolution of the Gamecube'
It's probably not worth it, but anything's better than nothing I guess.
If devs suck at using the UE3 enging on the 360 and PS3, why would they fair better on the Wii?Sir-Marwin105
good point.... *sigh*
It doesn't confirm anywhere that UE3 is coming... actually Mark Rein says it wouldn't be beneficiary (sp?). The title of the article is wrong.HomesrfanHe says a dev is trying.
Knowing the Wii uses I think the ATI X1650, chances are this won't pull off well.mo0ksi
If that's true, which I doubt it is, it could easily play Unreal Tournament 3, since one of the recommended GPUs is a X1300.
BTW Splinter Cell: DA and Red Steel looked like crap and they used the UR2 engine? That is not good.
if PSP can handle UE3 I'm sure wii can too
of course it will look worse than UE2 in doing so but that doesn't matter to sheep
He says that "...I know one of our licensee who's giving it a shot; it's their own port..."
Which means UE3 is trying to be ported to the Wii by one of their licensees. How well it will look depends entirely on that developer, and if I have my thoughts straight, it also means that only that developer in particular will be using the 'Wii UE3', which leads us to the notion that no other developers will be using it, and therefore, the majority of games will not simply begin to look visually impressive.
I'm still interested in who this developer is, though. The only ones that I can think of that would have that many resources and the desire to port it are Ubisoft, EA, and maybe Square Enix.

Trying =/= Confirmation
Just because a dev is trying to does not mean it will happen.
Title is misleading.

UE3 can easily be run on the wii
Rainbow 6 vegas for PSP uses UE3
it just looks horrible

i have a x1600 and UT3 demo ran and looked pretty damn fine :| the wii is probably something way lower than that.
I don't know the PSP is teh supa powa.if PSP can handle UE3 I'm sure wii can too
