LOL, you mean to tell me that the PS3 is gonna run UT better than on the 360???
You mean how all other multiplats had stutter issues with the PS3, hence the nick name StutterStation 3 came about!!!
Bahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

Considering how well the UE3 works with the 360 cows shouldn't get their hopes up of claiming any sort of ownage with UT3. Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas and Mass Effect all have 2 things in common, they are 3 of the best looking games on the 360, and they all run on the Unreal Engine 3.pundog
UE3 ain't exactly the holy grail of graphics engines or anything. I can guarantee you that games with proprietary engines will surpass Gears or Mass Effect.

So that's all you do is praise games by their looks? How lame. The Darkness looks better than Gears and Rainbow. Mass Effect though looks the best of those three you mentioned. Duh.

So now the PS3 just being able to properly run a game is news? Oh for sure, I'm just saying that sony fanboys better not get all riled up over UT3, because I doubt it will look or play any better than the 360 version. To hotdaisy18: No I don't, my point is that sony fanboys (like I said before) need to watch what they say, because Epic, the UE3 engine and the 360 work pretty well together.

From what Gears proved, yes. But it can be proved in a sense with UT3 with the PS3 on how Epic goes on about it. Let's say the game actually looks better on the PS3? Of coures from all the consoles, the PC version will be the top of the game no doubt. I'm iffy on the whole hardware of things. It's really the developer that makes the hardware shine. Like Kojima. I think he's really going to show everyonw ath the PS3 is really capable of.

Yeah I'm not saying the PS3 can't make a game look good or anything, but between the PS3 and 360 chances are the 360 version will look better.http://www.n4g.com/News-38848.aspx

Im sure the 360 will have better textures and a higher fram rate than the 360s, like almost every othe multi plat
[QUOTE="JDW_games"]The PS3 will OWN the 360. Core0The PC will OWN both. Especially in UT3. Just saying.

@ Rockstar, no Gears of War and UT3 studios were seperate, only once gears was complete, the gears team joined the UT3 project, PS3 has had longer developement, there is a MASSIVE difference between Gears and UT3, specifaclly the fact that Gears was small leveled game crammed with great graphics, UT3 is largescale crammed with good graphics..

Taken out of context, I'd assume that they're referring to the PC version.

I THINK THEY WIIL BE EVEN IN ALMOST EVERY WAY .they said gears still looked better!daveg1
That much is obvious - for the similar reason to why MMORPGs don't have Oblivion-quality graphics.
Gears played in small, linear areas, with small number of players in multiplayer - thus there was more processing power available for the graphics.
UT3 will feature huge areas with large numbers of players online (if its anything like UT2004) - which eqautes to worse graphics. If they tried to make it look as good as Gears, it would probably run at, oh...6 FPS?

laugh while you can, cuz nobody thinks your funny :)
PS3 and 360 Version will look identical, PC version will look a little better (DX10 Mode + Enhanced textures for those using a 64 Bit CPU and oberating systems)Marka1700a) The 64 bit CPU/OS is not going to affect anything but overall performance. Textures are memory-bound on the PC due to all the extra memory which allows to go without texture streaming-which means textures are going to look better on nearly every PC.
b) You are forgetting one more thing: the 360/PS3 are most likely going to be locked to 720p in terms of rendering resolution. The PC version will render at a variety of resolutions, which is why I am so looking forward to play UT3 on my PC with a 1080p res. Note, that scaled resolutions and rendered resolutions are not comparable to each other here. Then there is the matter of AA/AF/et cetera.
c) An extra not-too-important detail, the PC version is going to have PPU support as well, apparently with exclusive content for PPU owners, which just may make me shell out $130 for one of those currently useless Ageia PhysX thingies.

Concerning (c), you have to wonder, though, about the continuing progress of the HavokFX engine and of DirectX10. Both of them allow the GPU to be harnessed for more general tasks--like physics calculation. Get a good enough GPU, and will you even need a PPU?Concerning the console ports in general, I'm pretty sure both games will be RAM-limited (remember, 512MB). As for performance, I think it'll be a coin flip. The PS3's Cell CPU can give it a boost with the simpler tasks (simple tasks are the SPE's forte--too big and it won't fit in the store, too complex and it'll chug) while the 360's Xenos can provide additional power to bolster the Xenon. And in development time, we have to wonder how long UT3 has been in development. To whoever compared Gears' dev time, I thought I read somewhere that Gears was conceived almost simultaneously with the 360 itself...some four years ago.

BTW, cows, don't expect too many unofficial mods. Any mods for the PS3 would have to fit into the PS3's limited memory framework. And Linux cannot be used as a bridge because any Linux OS in the PS3 cannot see the GameOS (security feature cited by Sony itself). Most mods will be geared for the PC and probably expect over 1 GB of RAM, so making them fit will be tough. As for the 360 and the possibility of mods...well, that's up to Epic. They probably will provide a way similar to what they're doing for the PS3 version.a) The 64 bit CPU/OS is not going to affect anything but overall performance. might be even worse than that. i heard that texture streaming is not a viable option for multiplayer games like this since it will effect performance.
