How will the PS3 version score the same as the 360 version? It doesn't have Xbox Live and its controller is horrid for fps, NO RUMBLE too. Half the dev team preferred the 360 version over the pc version and it is locked between at close to 35 FPS with graphics that destroy Gears...PS3 version will have major framerate probelms. If PS3 can't keep a steady framerate in MLB 2K7, they're going to be a mess in UT3, and I already have read that they are struggling with the framerate.

That's funny. I thought Tim Sweeney said they had the PS3 version at 60fps locked.PC will obviously score higher because of mods and whatnot, but all of them should get AAA.BigDaddyPOLONot necessarily. PC scoring has much higher standards (especially now with the DX10 bar). Look at Oblivion. The PC version got the lowest score (9.3 vs. 9.5 PS3 vs. 9.6 360) yet is undeniably the best version and the most mod-friendly.

Yep, all games take intense scrutiny on the PC platform. It's quite a achievement to get AAA on PC. But that's because it has so many great titles games need to compare with. TES:Oblivion was a perfect example of this, as the PC easily was the best version, but because of high standards set by previous TES games, baldurs, nwn, and etc, it scored 9.3 (which is still amazing)
Wow, I'm surprised everyone is giving it such high marks. Can't help but wonder how many of you have ever played an Unreal Tournament game before. I'm gonna say 9.2 - 8.7 range.TyrantDragon55
I have to agree, Im sure its a good game, but it wont score that high.
either way....the PC version is undenietaably the best, even if it scores lower (aka Oblivion)
not only because of the key board and mouse, but because of mods, and the ability to have 64 players on one server.
a 9 max.
the idea that so many of the big levels need vechicals to make them fun is kind of bleh. UT was never a heavy vechical combat game, it was like a sub thing.
Although i hope they still have 32 mp ^^
toxicmog
The consoles are said to have 16-20 players online...the PC version will probably have a limit of 64.

Uhh actually you are mistaken. If Epic is making UT3 differently control wise from the 360 version, the PS3 one will be better overall. If they opt to use the tilt sensor functions for vehicles, that would drastically improve the controls, as any UT veteran will tell you that trying to movie a buggie while its travelling at about 80 mph is really hard to control, the Raptors and other flight vehicles will also be able to utilize the sensors as well, heck you could even strafe by tilting your controller left and right if you wanted to. The PS3 controller is far better for shooters then then PS2 one was thats for sure.

I think it has a great chance at being AAA though, if you lookat what reviewers said about UT2004, which had pretty much the ideal things needed to be AAA.
Game Informer gave it a 9.5, 1Up 9/10, 5/5 from GameSpy, GameSpot 9.4, 9/10 Yahoo Games, Gamershell 9.3 5/5 from CGW and Gamers Depot gave it a 5/5. I dont think there is any way that UT3 will be anything less then AAA, 2004 got the same score as Halo CE did and imo its a far superior game although it did lack an indepth single player mode. Hopefully Epic has improved on the single player more to give it more length.
Think the game will score in the mid 9, but do do you think people will buy it. Nobody seems to care about it, and its going to buried by the halo 3MP(not that I got anything against halo).bentlegI think people will definitely buy it. The only reson no-one seems to care about it is that epic doesn't muck about making a cult.

On user-owned, user-run dedicated servers, no less. The fact it's Unreal Tournament gets an automatic 8.5.
Add in new vehicles or cool modes like in Onslaught, toss in another half a point. Amazing graphics and crisp gameplay and more than just standard deathmatch fare, I'd say this would go in the books at the low 9s.
all AAA pc>360version>ps3 versionsolidgamerPS3 version should be locked at 60fps, amirite? I distincly recall after E3 '05, the buzz was that Epic had UT3 running at 40+fps unoptimized. should we not expect something at least that high in 2007?

Nope it will score lowest due to standard ... but it will be the best version without question.
It will just about scrape a 9.
What standards? It's a PC FPS in the same franchise as the other games which were all great, the odds of UT3 not getting AAA on PC are slim to none. Epic knows how to make FPS games better then those idiots at Bungie do, god anyone who thinks Halo is enjoyable has never touched Half Life or Unreal which slaughter every console FPS on the market (aside from maybe Metroid which is one of the best single player shooter franchises to ever grace a console as far as I am concerned). Halo's single player story is trash compared to Half Life and the multiplayer is a boringcrap festwith little kiddies screaming at the top of their lungs cause they got killed. Unreal Tournament is fast paced, just like any good mass player FPS game, of which there are not many and none of them stack up to the level that Unreal has set over the years. There are no standards aside from the controls and I swear to god that if Epic has ruined the game by making the control scheme better for controllers and downgraded the PC controls, some people will not be very happy.
The console versions will lack mods and any maps you will have to pay for on the 360 plus you have to pay to play the game o XBL so thats even more of a ripoff. Plus the console versions will probably be limited to 16 players whereas the PC will have 32 or 64 player maps, because consoles cannot handle that much action at one time.

You wrote an essay for that? Look, like all these games, it will be lower scoring than the PS3/Xbox counterpart , and I gaurentee ORANGE BOX will be too, because, the standards on the PC Rating are much harder to satisfy.... Gears of War exactly the same wouldnt of got 9.6 on PC thats for sure.
And this is just a graphical re-hash, this is coming from an UT fan ... seriously its the same old, just like Halo 3 .... so dont expect miracle scores.,,, it will struggle to get 9.2.

I would hardly call it a rehash. They're definitely introducing additional gameplay mechanics into the game--some of the may even serve to level the field (not by handicapping the KB/M users but by introducing mechanics where controllers have an edge). Please Log In to post.
