God damn I Think we have a winner even BF1 may get a run for its money. This is the visual overhaul of the Titan Pass map. I seen no game with texture this good don't even try to change my mine. Haters are going to have a field day with this lol
BF1 has maps that are 10 times bigger, full destruction and land/air vehicles. This has nothing else but visuals.
In my opinion Unreal Tournament always had rather photo realistic looking map a least with Outpost 23. Looks like they spent time remodeling their previous maps.
The game looks amazing , some of best textures i have seen in a game . Unreal engine is damn impressive , Paragon is also a nice looking game with some very detailed character models
So true.
Damn I wish this was coming out in the xbox or Playstation. Also Paragon is a gorgeous looking game as well using the unreal 4 engine and definitely the best looking MOBA I've ever seen aND played.
It looks great, but yeah, it's going to be missing all of the physics, destruction, and all that other fun stuff that adds to the technical scope.
Still don't think it looks better than BF1.
Damn. I wonder if the lighting, global illumination, and AO are all dynamic rather than baked. I would guess they are baked to keep performance up.
Still looks really great.
This is what one of the user who has prototyped the game had said about the lighting assuming all maps are the same
"It's a mix. From all your lights in the map, you have 3 types:

all baked except for the AO. U4 still uses lightmass.
This game is also built to run at over 100fps at 1080p or higher resolution. I can probably hit 144 FPS at 1440p with this game because it's optimized so well. If was running at 1080p30 they could make everything pointlessly dynamic.
Context is everything.
We know the Unreal 4 engine is completely capable of handling everything dynamically. There are plenty of tech demos out there showing that. However it's extremely difficult to run those advanced features at playable framerates with modest hardware. If there is no point in doing it dynamically, you can prebake for the same visual qualities at much better performance.

When I say prebaked I usually only mean stuff like the shadows and global illumination. There are always going to be dynamic lights (those are pretty cheap to render) and some dynamic shadows from select light sources.
Going fully dynamic means the shadows and global illumination would be dynamic based on the light sources. That's kind of pointless for an Unreal Tournament map and it would nuke performance on everything.
Is it just me or does the image look a bit "grainy"? Chromatic aberration? Either way an excellent looking game but BF1 is a lot more dynamic and let's save judgement for the single player campaign.
Yes it does have Chromatic Aberration but you can turn it off.
@CroidX: Off would have made the screenshots look quite a bit better. I have no idea why CA even exists in video games. It's disgusting and doesn't contribute anything realistic.
Edit: Well, using it along objects impacted by light shafts can be kinda pretty.

u3 and u4 are quite slow with dynamic lighting and shadows actually

I would probably wait for user screenshots there always better than the ones released by the developers . No doubt we will see quality shots that will show how truly good the game is.

I love how crisp the game looks, but if you think it's "photo-realistic" you need to get out more...
Yes more reasons for people to come to UT. Get on this people! I've been having so much fun on the pre alpha.
Yes, I'm shamelessly promoting this game.

As you should, game is dope.
I suck at it, but I still have fun getting my ass kicked.

More people would play it if they'd put it out on Steam's early access. I have it downloaded but keep forgetting about it.

these photos aren't really selling the OP's claim
Photo realistic does not necessary mean it needs to exactly look like a picture yet games way back like Crysis were able to achieve realistic looks. I beat if you compare certain mountains to the texture in UT they will look shocking very similar.
