I am one of those persons that are between trading in a DS Lite and paying extra money for a DSi, but i'm not sure if this is a good investment. Althought it features, larger and brighter screens, new and updatable menu, SD card slot, matte casing with better speakers, Browser, downlodable content and two cameras intended for gameplay it is still a DS. and The worse thing is tha the DS have been in the market for like 4 years, and with rumors of a PSP2 on the way that can be show at E3, Nintendo can end launching the successor to the DS next year.

1. In your opinion should someone thinking like me should not upgrade?

2. Should people wait still E3?

Look, we know that the DS2 and PSP2 are about to be announced, it's been 4-5 years.

Until there is some SUREFIRE DSi games YOU WANT, I would wait it out.

$170 is too high to pay for something that has a few minigames avaible for it.

WarioDSi got a 4.0 at GS...Wait it out dude.

Nintendo has apparently claimed that the DSi is suppose to get "exclusive" software do that's really the deal breaker. I myself refuse to upgrade until I see these new games.

I wouldn't worry about a PSP2. It would be silly for Sony to suddenly support a platform only to release it's sucessor right after.

DSi is a like it or not kind of thing. I, myself, will stick to the DS Lite until I see something worth it on the DSi that I can't possibly get on the DS Lite, up until now there's nothing of the such.

Not to mention that it's priced at 199,99$. I'd rather get a PS2 for half the price....

I've heard the system have a bit more powerful processor and four times the RAM but maybe the extra RAM is there for the Browser, even if they launch DSi only games i think they are going to look like normal DS games. Maybe this is going to be the Gameboy Color of this generation.

NO matter how much they try to say it's new, it's just a DS that can sell you Digital games.

After 5 years, it's still weaker than the PSP...which is also old.

Stick with a DSlite until they drop the price, it's WAY too high.

IT will be like the Gameboy Micro, expensive at first, then dirt cheap soon afterwards.

I'll make it simple for you. What exclussive content is there that justifies buying a DSi when you own a DS Lite? Nothing. When/if that changes, then get a DSi.

I think $170 is way too much for a DSi, especially if oyu already have a DS. I mean for just $30 more you could get an xbox 360. That alone makes the DSi look like a rip IMO. I would wait it out to see what happens with it, it's not that major of an upgrade if you have a DSL

Yeah it should be like $139.99, the system doesn't have the graphical power of the PSP, the Screens are lower resolution and aren't as big as the one of the PSP, and have less capabilities.

The biggest reason I would not trade in a DS Lite for a DSi is I would then have to find my old GBA to play all my GBa games, and who wants to do that?

Yeah i don't get it why they are selling it for $169.99, it isn't as powerful as the PSP graphically, have less features and doesn't even have the GBA Slot, they price could be justified if it had a GBA slot.

Not worth it really. I used to think it'd be incredibly worth it had their been a virtual console, but instead they're putting out a virtual handheld. I don't want that junk! I want portable NES/SNES!!!!

I'm just going to wait it out now, and see if developers actually build games for the improved DSi hardware, though why would they? It's like there's 3 million DSi users, and then 100 million DS users? Let's just make a game only for the DSi users....Don't think they'll do that unless DSi really catches on.

Both system's have great games coming, but the DS suffers from what the Wii Suffers from, Shovelware. So counting DS games is silly.

The DS's success is what gave Nintendo the Whole Wii idea in the first place.

Except the DS actually has more quality games. It's just like the PS1 and PS2. Tons of shovelware, but there were also tons of really great games that made the system sell so much better than the competition.

Thinking the DS only has shovelware is pretty pathetic. I suggest you learn about the DS's lineup before dismissing it as shovelware.

The lack of a GBA slot is unforgiveable.

£150 for an upgrade on a five year old handheld with no absolutely no exclusive content and and the backwards compatibility taken away?

No thanks

Glad to see most of you see that the DSI is a scam. Nintendo always does this. Brings out a new game boy every year or so with very slight upgrades just to milk more out of the consumer.

I will not be getting a DSI. Im excited for the PSP2 though, if it has 2 analog sticks it will finally bring good portable FPS gaming.
