I loved all the MGS games. I'm telling you if you ever play this game and get to the sad part you will cry.Lair, the game had so much potential yet sucked so hard. Was very sad day.
But seriously, I've never cried over a video game, but MGS3 made me come very damn close. Emotional/powerful stuff.

I haven't played a videogame yet that has made me cry. Especially a hamfisted story in a SJRP.
It's a good game so far for me though. I find it hard for that type of storytelling to evoke any kind of emotion from me. To be honest, I really don't care about the story as much as I do the plot which I expect to provide me with the motivation to keep playing.
Good point, I actually do the same. Ninja Gaiden 2 at some point started to not provide any motivation to keep playing right to the very end, even though action was superb. I felt like something is missing there. I enjoyed it a lot, though.I haven't played a videogame yet that has made me cry. Especially a hamfisted story in a SJRP.

Sounds like a personal experience to me.
Touched.I never have cried in games got a little teary but never cried. This is the first game that let a tear pass down my nose. Very powerful story. If you have played this powerful game did you cry at the spoiler momment? Or what game has had such an emotioanl impact.illegalimigrantFF7:CC ending did me in....dang that was sad What is worse you knew what had to happen.
FF7CC had a very good ending if your looking for a tear jerker, wish i can say the same for gameplay :Ptiger35010That game with how well the story was done would be one of the best games I have ever played. But my god your right about the gameplay sucking. At the end for the first final boss I just kept running in circles firing fifa over and over again. Worked very well after getting free magic.

I know the ending was sad but crying for it is like crying for a Shakespeare play. We all know it ends that way before it starts.
Lost Oddyssey was very depressing at the beginning. Those initial dreams (with that ridiculous music!!!) and the orphans crying all the time, tough to get through at some points...glitchesofwarLost Odyssey for me. That game is the most emotional game I've ever played. It's like every 5 sec it ether trying to move you or make you cry.

Lost odyssey has got some really good moments, I had a tear jerk when seth when through the portal to the immortal world, while taking gongora with her
You cried playing a video game?young_doeI have teared up playing a few. You have not???? It is why I like RPGs because I will get into the story so deep it will move me. When Aires died in FF7 that scene where he lets her body go into the water was moving on it's own. What else reason is there when playing an RPG if it can't move you.
MGS3 was close. MGS4 made me cry though. The only game to ever do it.Lair, the game had so much potential yet sucked so hard. Was very sad day.

No game has ever made me cry, but FF7:CC came damn close. I knew how it ended, but I was just wishing it wouldn't end that way.
Lost Odyssey was pretty emotional for me. Some of the dream sequences made me feel emotions I've never felt in a game before. Sometimes when I'd get to the end of a dream, a huge grin would come over my face. I was so happy it had worked out well. The sad ones would give me a huge sinking feeling inside.
Those dreams were damn powerful.
I need to give an honourable mention to MGS1 (If you don't pass the torture bit), MGS3 and MGS4.
When it comes to gaming
i only cried/got emotional about 5 times
1. PS3 = 500 pounds in UK = NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
2.Mgs3 = Snake kills the boss, Y!!! Y!!!!!!!!!!!
3.MGS4 ACT4 = No need to talk about that!!!
4.Mgs4 = Snake walks through microwaved tunell
5.Mgs4 = Pretty much whole of ending - ALMOST teared up when Big Boss hugs snake at end!!!
True MGS fans will agree!!!
haha im sure crying because of a video game takes away some dignity/man points
it almost happened to me during MGS4
Yeah LO probably brought quite a few people to tears within the first hour or so. Game is so depressing it hurts.adastos
the story about the little kid dying was sad, most of the flashbacks were

You cried playing a video game?dreman999Oh so manly. Never cry during a video game did you. Go play Mgs3 or Lost Odyssey. Tell me what happens.
I gotta admit the end of disk one was pretty well done. It didn't make me want to cry but it was very sad. And I think that what worked for me in LO was that the characters weren't that ridiculously overused annoying anime style characters. They were a bit more realistic and it was effective. Cooke and Mack were 2 cool ass little kids. I dug them a lot.
Is the story really that strong? Can anyone confirm that? Because if it is, I simply must get it! I love games that have some actual depth to them! MGS3 and MGS4 brought a few tears into my eyes already...metalgear-solidIf you want conformation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sayT6O_urQ However be warned only read the comments and no more. im stuck on the level with the giant tank...shadow_hosiStay behind cover when the Vakyria appears. Use your tank as cover for your troops and those that can't take cover get them as far away as you can from the valkyria. You need lancers don't rely on your tank too much since it uses two turns.

Fatal Frame 2 because I didn't know about the "good ending" that you get if you beat the game on Hard or Nightmare difficulty.siLVURcrossYou got the good ending even on normal. You just took 1 of the 2 wrong paths in the game.
Aeris' death from Final Fantasy 7. Whether it was the mere fact it was so sudden or unexpected, or the haunting music accompanying it or the fact Phoenix Down won't solve this problem, that was the game that did it for me.
Hell I can't listen to that theme music anymore without getting all watery eyed.
And about the topic creator's choice. The scene where that injured Imperial Troop died in Alicia's arms, that was pretty powerful I have to admit.
