I don't mind having a 'Games for Windows' logo on PC game boxes. Believe it or not, there are some extremely noobish casuals out there who don't know the difference between WindowsXP, Vista and Mac OSX. They may buy a Mac program/game and attempt to run in on their PC. Then when it doesn't work, they'll attempt to return the thing only to find that they're sol. Having the 'Games for Windows' distinction will help consumers pick out games that they'll know were made for the Windows operating system. Now all MS has to do is make it easier for casuals to understand system requirements.

Why is Valve always talking ****? Did Bill gates and him fall off? Does he realize that without Bill, he wouldn't be where he is.

Bungie did just fine without Bill Gates during their run of producing games for the MAC.

No one needs Bill Gates...

If you were informed, you would know that Half Life 2: Episodes is basically Half Life 3. The intention is to keep everyone involved in the story by not making us wait.

It's a great idea.

It's basically Half Life 2. Some guys make the whole new game for three years (Crytech), and some - for two (Gears of War). And Valve barely can do two tiny addons for 3 years.

Gee thanks Doug. I'm still pissed you made me install Steam just to play Half-Life 2. Get your freakin fingers off my PC. Hrm... I wonder if Vista cripples Steam in anyway?

It's business. I mean, if they think this would be a good way of making profits out of Vista then let them.

I just want them to try to stop piracy while rewarding those of us who spend money on PC software... I hate the idea of Vista only games... that is most likely why I will be buying a 360 instead of a new PC.

He's right, but what did he expect of MS? Of course they are doing it to sell Vista.

What I don't understand is why companies like iD and EPIC are complaining about piracy. Their games have a lot of online content and buying the game is required to get the full effect. It's companies like Firaxis, Big Red Games, and the smaller developers getting screwed by pirates.

you are correct. there would be no operating systems, and therefore no games. at all. right?
