Valve Teases TF2 Update on Consoles!!!!!

Few people would blame you. "Team Fortress 2″ has yet to receive a content update - free or otherwise - from Valve. But that doesn't mean they aren't thinking about it.

In response to the recent reveal of new maps, modes and character tweaks for "Team Fortress 2," I asked the studio if console owners could look forward to this, as well.

Valve's answer to MTV Multiplayer is open to interpretation. "[There is] nothing to announce - yet," said Valve vice president of marketing Doug Lombardi.

It looks like Lombardi cryptically placed the "yet" there for a reason. If Valve updates "Team Fortress 2″ on the consoles, will you jump back in?

one of my friend is playing tf2 on a 2ghz comp and a ge5800, you don't need much to enjoy it on the pc

I have Team Fortress 2 (The Orange Box, really.) for PC, and I honestly do not care about the updates at all. Seriously, I wish the Pyros didn't get those damn updates. It just made everything unbalanced.DeathScape666

By time they did this it would be too late. Infact it's already too late. The game is a laggy ghost town on the 360. Truly horrible in comparison to the PC version.stepat201

The game is not unbalanced. It's actually the most balanced shooter our right now. The whole point of letting the pyro deflect rockets and grenades is because he had no means of defending himself before the update.

All he had was his flamethrower which was only for close range. He was actually underpowered before the update. Now he's simply balanced.

Though the game could do with a bit more players on the 360 version, it's hardly a ghost town. I usually have no trouble finding matches.

Updates would be nice, but I'm already strongly considering just moving to the PC once I get a new one.

Still,playing TF2 with 16 players sucks. And the fact that the console versions haven't gotten the updates yet also sucks. I couldn't imagine playing it on 360 again.

I don't know. The BackBurner and that Axe are really freaking powerful.

Also the game is so chaotic and crazy with 32 people that it's hard to go back after.

I'm very nervous about picking it up for the PC as I'm not sure how my PC is going to react to it. I think it should run it just fine as it runs DOOM 3 on medium at 30FPS and Half-Life 2 on high at 30FPS. However, this isn't my gaming machine, that was struck by lightning a couple of months ago, it's the family computer. Whenever I have a lot of PC games on it, it seems to start acting funny. No idea why.

16 players isnt that bad. a lot of tf2 maps get clausterohbic with 32 players

There are more reasons to buy a console version of a game even if you had a pimped out PC.

I don't know. The BackBurner and that Axe are really freaking powerful.

• Scouts can easily outrun Pyros.
• Soldiers have rockets to knock Pyros back.
• Pyros don't get burned.
• Demomen have grenades to knock Pyros back.
• Engineers shouldn't be on the front lines.
• Heavies usually have Medics and are considered by most the greater threat.
• Medics shouldn't be on the front lines and have roughly the same speed so the average Medic can stay out of a Pyro's range if and kill with the Blutsaugher or Syringe Gun if they're cautious.
• Snipers shouldn't be on the front lines and are screwed regardless of what the opposing Pyro has if the Pyro is within range.
• Spies need to work on avoiding Spy checks.

In other words, if a Pyro gets behind or near you, chances are it's your fault for rushing in unaware of your surroundings.

It went through the phone lines and got it that way. It also messed up my brothers ethernet port, but spared his motherboard. I wasn't so lucky. :(

ohhhh i thought you meant directly but ive seen that happen before power surge screwed my friends computer. We looked at the motherboard and it had this scorch mark on it and the sound on his computer no longer works.

I'm not a hermit. I've had more enjoyment this gen on my 360 than on my PC. I'm simply trying to help people out here by getting them to play the superior versions. Team Fortress 2 is a really amazing game and I do feel bad for people who don't get the full experience.

If you choose to play an inferior version of a game when you have access to the better one,that's your choice,but I don't understand it.

And you aren't doing a very good job of proving that idea. Furthermore, you forgot the situation. We're not debating why you should play the 360 version, we're debating why you should play the 360 version over the PC version assuming you have an ultra-powerful PC. "Because you can" is not a very compelling argument as it works both ways.

I DO own the PC version. I was just saying that it wouldn't bother me if the PC version only had 16 people. I don't own a 360 or PS3, so PC is my only option. I have a Wii, though.

Also, my PC is pretty damn good, except for my 8400 gt video card.

I DO own the PC version. I was just saying that it wouldn't bother me if the PC version only had 16 people. I don't own a 360 or PS3, so PC is my only option. I have a Wii, though.

Oh ok then. 32 players is a good thing either way because even if you prefer 16 players you can just go to a 16 player server.

YEs they need to fix it so I Can continue to play hours and hours of this game!!!

I don't think it's too much of a big deal though, it's not like putting the effort into this update will garner new sales and more money.
