vgchartz is now going to be the # 1 source for the AP media

I am highly upset about the nPD news as it was going to be such a great thursday seeing the gains the MS made with Halo Reach. The result is one that is going to upset alot of people, VGchartz is now going to be the source to go by, expect it to be quoted by the media from now on. I say to NPD way to chicken out, probably from pressure from SONY since the numbers were always a letdown for them, so since we have a ton of conspircy theorist going around in regards to Kinect demand, thats my theory.... Otherwise what do you guys think about this news today?

VG won't be our new nr1 source. We just won't have one.

I for one am glad that we won't have anymore threads where half of sw thinks North America is the entire world.

It's not really that hard to understand him so long as you keep these three rules in mind:

1. Sony is the devil incarnate.

2. MS is the center of the universe. They are God's gift to man and can do no wrong.

3. Should something somehow tarnish #2, then it was all a conspiracy set up by Sony to bring down MS.

i think they still will have accurate numbers after the fact they are tracking alot and getting better at it as far as im concerned. Ill take Vgchartz number over anything now since they dedicate the most time with it. They always tried to be fair as well, not their fault that NPD dropped this bomb and nobody can recover from it. Sony must of paid alot of money to NPD charts, wow makes me mad.

Edit: Just try it.. Press a button on your controller. Then wave a hand in front of you. Then say "XBOX SLIDE" out loud.

In what way are they trying to be accurate. They still have the worldwide PS3 total at 100k less than Sony reported nearly 3 months ago. :? And that's their "guess" as to the current total. They are in no way related to the facts, nor interested in appending their numbers with more accurate totals when they have the chance.

why don't we put an end all this sales BS altogether. it's rather irrelevant to the actual gamer. i don't know about you, but i sure as hell didn't notice when 100,000+ new PS3s were purchased.

lol. But seriously, I guess where that argument could kinda make sense. the mainstream product is the one that gets supported more with games. And if your console isnt selling well, then Devs might pull out. But really, none of these consoles are at that point right now.

Following Vgchartz is the equivalent of just randomly guessing the numbers yourself. All the sales information meant nothing to consumers anyway. That is internal information.

Doesn't make VG chartz any more reliable. I'm kinda glad at the "loss" of NPD sales analysis. It was too limited to give an accurate picture, didn't even include all retailers for the US, and was used too much to argue success. I hate that people seem to think that if a game isn't in the top 10 it isn't successful, like the difference between 10 and 11 is so huge.

Nex gen wars should make a come back.
