Everyone of us know that site is as inaccurate as they come, but only acknowledge that factw hen the numbers they post aren't favorable to our favorite console.

When the numbers ARE favorable, vgchartz suddenly become "a reliable guide to go by". :lol:

the only thing I dont get on VGcharts is...why is the ps3 still at 5.5mill.... it sold that by september acourding to the OFFICAL numbers?and why dont they update according to npd/other real sites?

as far as i can see they just make the numbers up randomly

some of you might find this crazy but i'm no fanboy, yet i like to see what vgchartz estimates week 2 week. sometimes, their way off, other times they get pretty close. npds are the official numbers though, even though they don't track walmart (the largest retailer of games) because walmart doesn't release their sales #s.

i don't think its fanboyish to keep track of sales. Is N'Gai Croal a fanboy for doing the Monday Morning Quarterback feature on level up, which is an analysis of the npds.

Neither VG Charts or NPD is 100% NPD is better but niether is perfect.Vg Charts is good at seeing the sales trend for that week or month. rybe1025

I would say VG is only good for the most basic trend. I immediately discount any thread that tries to use VGchartz figures for proof.

my favorite article to read about video games is N'Gai Croal's Monday Morning Quarterback. he's a higher class writer than what you would get at websites like Gamepro. Gamepro likes shock articles (e.g. Gamecube Outpacing PS3!) a little too much.

VGChartz is so unreliable it's not even funny...

That site should be banned from all message boards. Anyone can start a site and say they know the sales of consoles.

I don't see why some people are so anti-VGchartz, it provides a great service, it doesn't claim to be 100% perfect but it does give a good idea of what is going on in week by week sales and it's accuracy is improving as time goes on.

People who wish to ban such a useful & interesting sites are extreamly closed minded and....down right strange. Even if your not interested in the numbers they provide on a weekly bases Why ban a tool that provides easy to use charts and excelent archive sales data?

It's weird how people who claim that banning computer games is wrong try and ban a site, let people decide if the numbers are good or not, don't try and force your biased views upon others.

It is childish to use the sales numbers or scores of any kind as "ownage" but would you ban GameSpot and IGN to stop people using there scores in the same way?
