Sony is usually a little ahead and then MS makes up for that with holiday sales and last year they made up a little more than that, wont happen this year though because this gen ends with the launch of the Wii-U !

I think their numbers are showing a quite realistic picture, since they don't just count systems and games shipped to stores.

Of course any site dealing with sales numbers is likely also inaccurate to an extent.

That little bundle of joy, the DS, just slaying all you plebs debating PS3/360 sales. It also has much better and more exclusives than either. The DS was the PS2 of this generation.
