Videogame Trailers And Commericals That Try Way Too Hard

most recently I saw a dragon age 2 commercial on TV and laughed at how hard it tried to be cool. You see hawke jumping in the air slashing guys in slow motion and **** while some radio rock plays in the background. the first game was like that too with the marilyn manson trailer

Also, the Dead Island trailer was pretentious as hell. the director of that trailer clearly thought he was some brilliant genius.

I really didn't like the Dead Island trailer(you're game is about killing zombies. Stop trying to make it look like it's a piece of art. It's far from it.), but the "Your mom will hate this" campaign that EA and Visceral did for Dead Space 2 was just plain stupid.

The mom thing of Dead Space 2 was pretty lame.

I liked the dead island trailer so I don't get what do you mean by us eating it up. Were we fooled by something or what? What did we ate? The game may suck but the trailer was pretty cool.

I don't care for any of them, but the Dead Space 2 commercials were very juvenile, somewhat insulting. Aimed at those apparently too young to buy it giving its ESRB rating of M. Makes me think they don't care who gets the game as long as it sells. Or maybe I'm just looking at it wrong, and maybe they do care and this was actually a warning to moms everywhere not to buy the game for their kids. One can only wonder.

Halo 3's trailer was too good, it overhyped me for the game and then when the actual game was a lot less epic I was left a little dissapointed. Makes me wonder what 343i's game is going to be like.

Halo's hero campaign was lame, mostly because it showed an epic battle that made MC look like a badass Jesus, and then it never showed up in the game. False advertising FTL.

I really liked the Gears ad (though mostly due to a great song) and i loved the Halo 3 ads (because i was hyped like crazy, plus the diorama ruled!).

i didnt like the dead island trailer because it just didnt do the game justice. it was just the director trying to be artsy fartsy. the mom thing for dead space 2 was dumb. its like they were trying to market a m for mature game to 12 year olds.

Well you didn't add this one commercial on your list but for me it would be that stupid Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Harlequin trailer. It has that really bad song and the trailer tries to make the game look cool and "hip" when the actual game does not feel like that at all. At least not for me.

I really hated that Prototype 2 trailer where you falcon kick a helicopter.

I'm not a big fan of Kevin Butler but some of the ads can be pretty funny. The recent MLB The Show ad was funny.

I voted for the Dead Space 2 ad.

PSP Marcus commercials. Just plain awful.

We didn't get the 'your mum will hate this' ads in the UK because that kind of marketing would be counter productive. Instead we got a trailer with a Smashing Pumpkins song on it...thanks guys.

I just watched the Dead Space 2 ad. Meh, I actually thought it was pretty funny :P. Granted, it wouldn't alter my opinion on buyign the game and the fact that they thought making an ad about something so ridiculous would is stupid (though amusing), the reactions were hilarious.

people in the industry that try WAY too hard are Kevin Butler (Sony)... even though he's entertaining, its in rather poor taste to try to bash the other consoles, especially when their sales are so far ahead of yours. FAIL!

Kojima... oh god, talk about someone who is full of himself, to make a "game" that is so contrived and full of nonsensical ridiculousness... being weird for the sake of being weird, because you think it makes you stand out from the crowd is LAME!

I've never played through the MGS series, I just hear about stuff that happens in the game from a friend who happens to be a fan... and I just shake my head in disbelief.

Dead Space 2 commercials are lame as hell. I actually really liked the Halo 3 commercials, all really well done, don't think you can fault them with being too awesome:P.

Pretty much all the sony ad's specially the most recent with the kz3 sharp shooter...oh man I be playing this in 3d like 20 hours a day man :roll: yeah and your eye balls are burnt out of your head right? no ones using that near 3 and a half lb with the move stuff on it gun 6 hours a day and in 3d for that matter? righttt.

It came down to a point when the glitz wore off and you remember hes just an actor thank god they eventually got rid of the one kid pimping the psp though they did a whole new thank you psp for letting me do this ad :roll: most ad's is crap though I just want an ad that says hey heres this game then shows real game footage...I could dig that type of commercial sick of actors in video game commercials I want wanna see the freaking game.

The deadspace adds were pretty sad/pathetic. I love kevin butler adds, they are hilarious.

The gamestop ads that try to promote exclusive content/DLC.
