It's not exactly a system seller but I'd imagine PS3 owners like me are starving for an actual killer ap. I'm definately buying this game when it comes out.

It's selling poorly in Japan because VF5 has been out in arcades for months. It will sell considerably well here, though.

Considering That the arcade version is out in NA yet, i think the game will do much better. But the real seller will be the X360 version IMO.

There are a few threads around which tell the tale in more subtle terms. maybe that's why you've missed the action.

It sold 30k off of 600k or a ratio of 1:20. DOA4 has a comparable ratio of 1:9.33.

You know I've never gotten into the fighting genre but I really want to. I'm thinking about testing the water with VF 5 for 360 want's it comes out.

Wrong dude, the SYSTEM (PS3) did bad, that's why the game is doing worse. It's not entirely up to the game when a system is just selling poorly and has a low game to console attach rate.

It'll sell well, VF4 sold pretty well, and VF5 is coming out as the first truly great game since launch.

Well I would disagree with it flopping hard in Japan. You cant judge a sales flop based off of a single days sales. We already argued that earlier though so ill let that die now. I do think it will sell more in the US and in Europe. It will sell more in the US because there is a game drought right now so a really good game should sell well. In Europe it will probably be the highest rated and critically acclaimed launch title. That will sell alot of copies.

I think it's cause the Wii has made an overwhelming impact and the fact that X360 is more than willing to cater to the Japanese market may be just as big of a reason. Blue dragon moved a few consoles and I think it still is. Maybe they're waiting for it to come to the X360?

Well it's like Bioshock for 360. I'm a huge shock fan and will buy it the day it comes out, but it's not the kind of title that sells hardware despite how much I like it. VF5 sells to VF fans and some people who like fighting games. It's not going to be a make-or-break the PS3 game or anything like that.

lol i love the fact on how Kotaku forgot to include something in that article.

the fact that DOA 4 sold 60,000 in a week while VF5 sold 30,000 in a day so you have to wait for a weekly sale comparison till you can say it flopped worse than DOA 4 (those kinda sales it flopped)

now i just gotta remember that thread where it was the lemming who posted the article stating that.
