BECAUSE MOST JAPANESE ARE PLAYING IT IN THE ARCADE!!! No one realises this. Arcades are still big over there.
I understand that everyone plays it in the arcade, but christ everyone played street fighter games in the arcades also and the games would sell well for consoles. doesn't matter how much you play in the arcade you have to go home sometimes right?

Let's not forget that Tekken is a hot seller there too, plus VF had always been selling high there too. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2? Sold like crazy when it hit the PS2. Arcade or not... it was supposed to be a high seller.
I have a feeling Japan may actually begin to warm up to the 360 in due time. The games are there, the system is there, sales of the Wii and PS3 are waning somewhat, and one of Japan's most highly praised developers is making three exclusive games for the 360 with possible sequels to follow.-Spock-lmao.. sales of the wii is waning? (whatever that means) um, the reason for the wii sales, is cause there really isnt any high profile games for it yet. the xbox 360 had there last high profile game. animal crossing on the wii is a key franchise for wii success over there, smash brothers, mario, ect...

Sales have slumped in Japan lately. Maybe it's just the post-Christmas bring down or a lack of units in stock, but I have never seen two consoles lose so much momentum in the space of a couple of weeks.

Still selling 3:1 over the PS3 and like 20:1 over the 360
