I know that it was a substantial flop by all means considered, but i rather enjoyed my time with this system. It had some fairly decent titles going for it such as Wario Land, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer, Jack Bros, and Red Alarm. Those games were all really good on the V-boy and are still fun today. The wario land in my opinion was the best wario game to have ever came out on any system.

Now I know it had some crap games as well believe me, I still pull the thing out every once in a while, but I get tired of everyone in the world saying that it sucked, heck more than half of these people never played it.

Who else is with me, did anyone here enjoy this systems short run?

I bet the people that suffered epileptic seizures from the device didn't enjoy it at all.

Well, I'm sure the GameBoy creator didn't, he quit after this little disaster.Panzer_Zwei

He quit because he was forced to bring it to market long before it was ready in order to fill the long gap in between SNES and N64. The V-Boy as we know it was never intended to be released in that form

To answer the topic, it can be fun in short bursts but it didn't have the library to be taken too seriously.

I thought it was ok, nothing too special. I'm of the minority I guess who never got eyestrain or headaches from it...I just wish the damned thing was in color.

I still have my original red plastic case and games. And I remember the headaches and nausea that accompanied more then a couple rounds of Mario Tennis...

I thought it was so cool at first. Then, I realized that staring into this machine with bright red lights was about the most annoying way you could ever play a video game. Good idea on paper, terrible in reality.

You like getting headaches?da1on2

See that's what I'm talking about. Everyone thinks that all players got headaches or their eyes hurt after playing for over an hour. Mine never did and neither did my friends who also played it. It's mostly these rare stories that people remember about getting eye problems and other odd things happening. But then again a number of people die from seizures in movie theatres so I guess movies are badd too.....if you see what I'm trying to say here.

I didn't get headaches or anything...it just sucked to stare into that screen for very long. All I was thinking was "this would be so much better on my tv"

I like nintendo and have enjoyed all there consoles except for that thing. The first time i played it was the demo they had set up at walmart and after just a couple of minutes with it i new that this thing wasnt for me.A couple of weeks later my cousin bought one and i messed around with it and it made my eyes and head hurt, not real bad but anough to know that i never wanted to play the thing again. It was just one of those things that a company tried that didnt work out but i give nintendo props for trying something different.Out of all the great games and consoles that nintendo has given us its hard to trash them for just one mistake.

Yeah, that's true. But the red color looked neat at times though, I thought It was good in Wario Land.

Yeah, the whole face mask did pretty much ruin the multiplayer and social part of the games. I remember sayings things like "Woah that was close!! Did you see that?" when my little bro was in the room and realize a second later that no one could really see what was going on but me lol. And the whole red color probably wouldn't have worked well for long with tvs, would have made no sense.

Uhh I think everyone got some sort of unwell feeling from playing the Virtual Boy for any length of time. Its hard to look into anything like that for any amount of time without your eyes straining which leads to things like headaches and nausea. It didn't bother me that bad and it was pretty nifty. The Pinball game was the only thing I played for more than a few minutes. I think the tennis game was alright but I had a hard time with the depth perception.

Mario Tennis was good. It really showed off the 3D-ness, which was pretty amazing back in the day.

He did not quit...Nintendo gave him a nothing job which is very common in Japan after a failure. It still sad because if the VB was given a second chance VR may not have died there.

I still blame VB for killing VR gaming.

No, I don't.

I meant that there will always be a number of people who will have problems doing certain activities, like those people who can't really play flashy games or sit close to a movie screan with a lot of dazzling light effects for fear of having a siezure, something to that effect. This doesn't mean it will be this way for everyone that partakes in the said activity however.

Virtually all VR gaming is notorious for headaches, nausea, and seizures. I think Virtual Boy just brought that fact to the masses. It needed to be killed.

Well we've gotthree people in this forum alone who suffered from the VB headaches. So I think it was more then asmallportion of people, like the issues you're citing.
