Come on guys. I don't care what "team" you are on. The vitality sensor was kind of stupid. Next time they announce a perhipheral, they need to at least demo something with it or announce a game for it...

yes i agree. Im a former ps3-wii owner and...Mmm i liked nintendo for the big games coming, but that gadget seemed not very smart.Even the ubisoft cam for the wii(sort of eyetoy mixed with Wiiplus) seemed more interactive. Then again apparently they want to track your mental state, stress and heart rate to have games react to you.Which might be good.Heck, npcs interacting with you depending on your focus and relaxation?well...is not that much of a HORRIBLE idea(and original it is), but the one with less aps. Not entirely useless either. But the worst announced.I agree. Seemed like just another thing to appeal to the soccer-mom and senior citizen crowds.
Although, I'd be interested to see if it has any use for gaming.

Well, it didn't really take up that much time at their press conference, but it did take space.
It just seems weird how it was presented with nothing to back it up. It looked more like something you'd get free with a casual DS game.
If they go forward with it, they definitly have some ideas for it. What they could be is beyond me.
Maybe it's the smaller part of a larger concept, and they are marking their territory by presenting it?
I dunno, it's beyond me. Quite the odd ball. But again, it wasn't like it was all guns blazing with the product, and was only shown for like 5 minutes.
It could be its just something to show investors along the lines of health, (since Wii fit was a huge financial succes), that Nintendo is still focused on remaining the leader.
Who knows?
But it is something that the PS3 motion or Natal cannot detect. But big deal.
That could be its lone practical gaming application.I would like to see that being used in some horror games that has a leader board showing how scared and stressed out users are.

While I do think it is uninteresting, I think it was showed early to let developers plan for it ahead of time.
I don't see how it can help games at all. Sure it can probably measure how scared you are in a horror game but I don't really give a crap. While I do think it is uninteresting, I think it was showed early to let developers plan for it ahead of time.

It revelation may be intended to bring discussion and attract interest, something that Nintendo wanted the gaming press and gamers to do. Whatever we currently think of it, we are bringing awareness of it. It is just like the Wii Remote when it was revealed in 2005.
the vitaly sensor was the same as natal and the sony waggle wand..
just some tech with no software attached to it.. ergo boring
At least with Natal and the wand we can see some applications for it. If anyone can make interesting applications for something like that, Nintendo can, but right now I personally can't think of much.the vitaly sensor was the same as natal and the sony waggle wand..

Yeah, but again, it wasnt like N was going on and on about the sensor. It was just a brief intro of about 5 minutes.
Still, it looks like something you would see at a doctors office
