Those games probably won't sell that much. I will be buying Tales of Vesperia though. I'll wait to see the reviews for infinite Undiscovery.
:)
Going by VGchartz, which is reliable with NPD numbers, Viva Pinata sold about 55K in its first four weeks. Lost Odyssey sold about 225K in its first four weeks. What makes you think these games will be a big success in the US?Jack_Bauer07
Lost Odyssey broke into the npd top 10 charts with like 205,000 i think.
Tales Of Vesperia is coming out on August 26.
Is this entire board full of 3rd graders? Why does everyone think the word Sale=Sell.

Well in Chaos Wars you don't sell yours items, you "Sale" them. But that game has horrible localization.

Yes, but Blitz is saying it'll sell well in the US in September, which is its first month. Viva Pinata sold like 500K total in the US. I realize that the US is not the only country in the world but the OP argues that Viva Pinata will be in the NPD top ten in Sept.
Wait, those are all September releases? I guess Xbox360 has a decent September lineup.
That leaves only Playstation 3.

Ditto! Viva Pinata is a very good game.
My prediction is that 360 owners are going to be buying alot more multiplates than they are exclusives for the 360, with Gears being the only exception, don't really know why that is but it will be.GreyFoXX4Because you had a sudden urge to be fanboyish ??? :P
I think its a bad idea for them to release IU and ToV so close to each other. I can't help but think people will look at two real time jrpgs and be like, "its one or the other".
I would have done IU in August. It basically has no competition for all of september and most of Oct. Its not a super high profile title and probably won't be amazing nor will it be able to compete financially when there is extreme competition.
Fable 2 and Banjo will be good a good counter for the nov-dec onslaught of hyper-violent shooters.
I would have waited to Jan to launch Tales in the US. Tales is a higher profile title. It will sell great for a non-SquareEnix/Pokemon RPG no matter when its launched. Once Fallout, Resistance 2, Gears 2, etc... once you get all those games launched at you give them months to breath, people will want something different.
You still get the holiday effect on sales and will likely have a bigger opening month than having launched in August. You don't destroy IU sales AND you start 09 with a "big" title thats an exclusive (something thats not in the current Q1 2009 lineup). RPG fans will be wrapping up everything else and right as they're looking for that next game, you deliver something pretty major on them.
