Or maybe its just not selling as well as expected because of the people who generally own the PS3?
Either way, its selling well, and will sell over time too
i didnt get LBP yet cause i wanted first to see how its received by gamers and let the community grow and see what they create (custom made levels)... seems like there are some talented guys out there who created some interesting levels.. i plan in picking up LBP for xmas since i'd have more free time during the holiday period and can have a go creating a couple of levels....

I don't know, if I had 40-50 hours of free time, creating ONE LBP level that 10 people might play (if your level does't get modded for referencing pop culture) would not be on the top of my list. To each his own, I guess.
I never understood why Sony or anyone in general was expecting the game to be a "killer app." Its a niche game designed for those with the patience to sit there for hours on end making their own stuff. Most casual and non-gamers like having everything predetermined so they can just "get to the fun" and be done with it.foxhound_fox
Thats why they allow players to share maps, and include several Story maps.
My brothers friend, who plays WoW, Trauma Center, Call of Duty, Wario Ware... all sorts of games... says that LBP looks pointless and childish. Unfortunately, that's exactly what the game looks like if you don't know much about it.Tylendalhe plays wario ware and says lbp is pointless? I laugh in your friends face if I could

They have already been announced.
Yes, because announcing a sequel always means a sequel will be made, just like Advent Rising...oh wait!
Nothing but LBP is to blame for the poor sales of LBP. Right now it's suffering from Zack and Wiki syndrome... despite it being a great game it's clear for whatever reason it doesn't greatly appeal to the PS3 fanbase.
To blame any kind of market volatility for its poor showing makes no sense, it would only make sense if games were doing poorly across the board (and when looking at WotLK, Fallout 3, Gears 2, Fable 2 all burn up the charts, it's clear that isn't the case.)
[QUOTE="I_pWnzz_YoU"]I bought it. I play it. I enjoy it. Why would I care?ShafftehrBecause if it doesn't sell reasonably well, there's a very real chance the developers will have to move on to something that will bring in the big bucks.
I'd still be playing LBP, how does that make a difference?

It's not that LBP is a bad game, I mean it got great reviews. But like RuprechtMonkey said, theres just too much competition in this final quarter of the year. I still think it's a great game and is a great addition to any PS3 owners collection.

Yes but below expectations doesnt mean its failing in sales, AFAIK, the game is selling very wellI'd still be playing LBP, how does that make a difference?

I don't even know what point you're trying to make. I said I liked LBP and I play it, thats my opinion.I_pWnzz_YoU

I told you cows this game would fail commercially. Why do you continue to question my crystal ball? :|DisPimpinYou can take your crystal ball and shove it somewhere it probably shouldn't be shoved. But you will shove it there anyways because I said so...:D
Yeah it has "failed commercially" because it is a new franchise which had a screwed launch and is about to have a big advertising boost and which is currently the 3rd highest selling video game in the world. Not to mention the game is critically acclaimed- any new critically acclaimed franchise relies on some word of mouth to help sales. mhsdrakeWell, according to VGchartz (who I think would be the only source to claim this week's sales), LBP is not even in the top ten in America or WW for the week of Nov 14. In fact, I think its either 13th or 17th. Not sure where you are getting your facts from, but its "legs" are looking pretty short.
The love died when:
a) remakes started being taken down
b) people realized that it would take hours to make decent levels.
Personally, (a) doesn't bother me since I'd rather play the original rather than some remake (I've played plenty of bad PC mods that attempted a remake). But part (b) kills it for me. I always though it was strange in preview vids when they'd show someone making a level, where the video was clearly accelerated, and then casually say "oh, let's just skip ahead a bit to see the final product." If I wanted to spend hours making a level, I'd fire up Hammer or UTEd.
Rag-Doll-Kung-Fu was an epic game :lol:what a lame excuse. how do they explain how other games launched the same month did just fine, lol.Â
poor MM. looks like LBP might go the way of rag-doll-kung-fu.Â

[QUOTE="3picuri3"]Rag-Doll-Kung-Fu was an epic game  it was, but it too flopped in sales - i loved it :) was made by the lead guy at MM while he was still working with Lionhead iirc.what a lame excuse. how do they explain how other games launched the same month did just fine, lol.Â

I think we should wait until Nov. and Dec. sales before declaring it a sales flop.SFG_basicnah, we can just compare it to other games out right now with similar hype. it flopped in terms of initial sales - whether or not mom, or aunt estelle, or granny buy it for kids for xmas doesn't really mean a heck of a lot in the grand scheme of things. actual user interest in the title at launch is a better indicator of how well the title will do in the long run - at least based on other games.
I bought it. I play it. I enjoy it. Why would I care?I_pWnzz_YoUa community game with no community:?

heh i swear i dont get you people...what has this game sold so far around 800k or so? for a game that is not a sequal and not from a big name established publisher ....i dont get how that is considered bad...there cant be a ton of games that sold a lot more than that this year.
no it did not get the sales of gears2 but how many games do? even more so how many original games do...very few.
People be patient, LBP will sell very well in time. Its a new franchise, it appeals to a wide audience, and it is critically acclaimed. Word of mouth and Sony's advertising campaign in December will boost sales. mhsdrakeI don't think if Sony advertisted this killer app yet it will in December...
