Wait.. so exclusives dont matter now?!?

Exclusives may not matter in a number of cases. Technically, 360/PC games are not exclusive to a system, but they damn well carry weight with regards to choosing a system. It all depends on the individual. They matter or they don't, it's as simple as.

The only exlusive that was a factor in my console choice was MGS4, and most of them haven't mattered to me, I could live without games like Uncharted, Resistance, and Killzone.

of course lemmings are singing exclusives dont matter, and they're absolutely correct...well on the 360 that is, because it has a flood of kinect games on the way and they really dont matter! lol

And you *forgot* Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls, The Last Guardian, LBP2, inFamous, MGS4, Ratchet, Resistance, Valkyria Chronicles, you know, AAe, AAAe and even AAAAe games including two Gamespot's Game of the Year.

The 360 has a great exclusives lineup as well, don't get me wrong, but, next time, at least come out with real arguments.

Exclusives are everything, especially if you are a PC player like me, because you buy ALL your multiplats for PC (since its superior 99.999% of the time)

only if you ask the lems, who have a total lack of them coming.

exclusives are the most important thing when buying a console.

EDIT: with that said, some people also think that if you have no exclusives, you have no games.

This ends up being like the same thread then.... What's the point of this? Do you want us to reiterate our previous posts or what? You may not agree with people's opinions but you're basically setting up the exact same discussion in a new thread instead of keeping it in the original.

In a previous thread i made about 360 needing to announce some core exclusives, i was suprised at the amount of 360 fans that claimed stuff like "Exclusives dont matter, do you really think if one console has games the other console does not, it matters?!" umm yes it matters! that just makes no sense whatsoever. Case in point, back in 2006 when i had a crappy job and couldnt afford both consoles i chose to get a 360 over a PS3 because Gears of war to me was one of the best games i ever played and i wanted the console that i could play it on so i chose the 360 over the PS3. but times have changed, the PS3 just has a overwhelming amount of AAE/AAAE titles that just cant be missed. I own both consoles and i havent touched my 360 in months and their core exclusive line up for this year is very lackluster to say the least. So to all of you that say "exclusives dont matter anyway, its not a big deal" do you really think the PS3 would be going on 50 million consoles sold now and within 2.8 million units of overtaking 360 if it didnt have games like Metal Gear Solid 4, God Of War 3, Killzone franchise, Gran Turismo 5, and Little Big Planet?! Seriously?! EXCLUSIVES DO MATTER! Its what seperates the men from the boys. multiplats are multiplats and are going to appear on both consoles, its the exclusives that are the tie breakers and is a make or break for gamers to chose their console of choice. Now grant it, the PS3 doesnt have that one 'Halo' title that moves millions upon millions, but what it does have is ABUNCH of well know and well loved franchises from different genres that drive PS3 fans to be PS3 fans.. Titles like God Of War, MGS and GT DEFINE the PS3 and its what seperates the men from the boys.HelghastXtreme

You are mixing things up.

You suggested that 360 owners should get a PS3 because it's getting more exclusives, to what people answered from their personal points of view (how important those exclusives were in order to buy a new system or not)

No one discussed the importance of exclusives for sales, or for the identity of each system.

To me, exclusives never have mattered. If I have a gme thats on every single system out there, does that somehow reduce the game quality? No. But, exclusives do make the system you own a little more special. But does it matter? No.

In system wars they do matter. Persoanally I really don't about in most cases. The only platforms I bother to pick up exclusives on are the wii, PC, DS, PSP. Most of the titles I've picked up this gen are multi-plats.

Plus like I said before, SW =/= real world. The real world isn't going to throw away their 360's & shell out $300 just to play a few exclusives that Sony has.

Exclusives dont matter...they only matter here because it brings meaning to some sexually frustrated loser's life if a game native to their system of choice gets a whopping point higher or lower than what they predicted.
