That might backfire...

How the heck can one company do everything the right way,and the other f*ck up completely?
Nah,this can't be real.I should start thinking about kate upton before this dream ends.
Like I stated in another forum: I really hope that Sony is properly prepared for the onslaught of people that will be flocking the PSN this time around. MS basically gave Sony the initial install base this time around, and with that being said, I have a very great feeling that the launch PSN numbers this time around will completely blanket the PSN numbers on the ps3 launch. Will the PSN servers be ready at launch?:?

Since Sony is making us pay for online now I assume they will have infrastructure in place.
They may dwarf the ps3 launch but it will hardly make a dent on the current PSN total usage.Like I stated in another forum: I really hope that Sony is properly prepared for the onslaught of people that will be flocking the PSN this time around. how crappy is their confidence?
they are beating the x1 by a hundred bucks.
why would they have low estimates in the 1st place?
they will be ready because they are making money on it now and can afford to upgrade and to have an online infrastructure..Like I stated in another forum: I really hope that Sony is properly prepared for the onslaught of people that will be flocking the PSN this time around. charging for it makes them responsible to provide a competent system that makes consumers happy.
see how well that works out?

Did you just start gaming? Did you NOT see what Sony did in the 7th gen?[QUOTE="ermacness"]

Correct, you are, but for as long as I have been gaming, I have NEVER seen such a one-sided comparison between 2 competing consoles in my entire life of gaming, especially since one of the competing company (the winning company, mind you)) just previously had one of the worst console launch in gaming history. Coming off of that, I just hope that Sony is ready for the massive amount of people who will be gaming on the ps4 at launch this holiday season, and just imagine: Christmas Day!!!!!!!!!![QUOTE="babycakin"]
Sony did many things right this time, good for them. Completely turn around from their embarrasing E3 2006 showing.
Indeed, and the 3rd console curse is in full effect for MS.
Yep. You'd think they would have learned from Sony but it's MS. They're just as argoant as Sony was this past gen.[QUOTE="ermacness"]They may dwarf the ps3 launch but it will hardly make a dent on the current PSN total usage.Well, since the PSN wil be completely redone for the ps4, I'm thinking that it'll be more of a reboot, than a continuation. At least ps3 didn't have so many restrictions...Many people thought that it was a good console back in 2006 too.
But the xbone...NO ONE seems to like it.MS is pissing off everyone. The casuals, the core, the keyboard warriors...You name it.
speaking of this did sony ever give a release date?
if they ever said when it will be out  i didn't hear it.
Supply issues? i thought that was MS?Yeah, when you have supply issues, it's so easy to sell-out.Â

Maybe the demand is EXTREMELY high. I think Sony always expected to win.
Holidays this year is the only date they gave, so any time in the late year (oct-dec) is most likely, but doesn't rule out sept.speaking of this did sony ever give a release date?

Would it be so bad to wait?
Yes if you really want one at launch....
Sony got things right but I'm afraid they are looking better than they actually are thanks to M$. M$ lowered the standards of everyone. Imaging if M$ hadn't launched all that DRM crap then Sony would suffer a pretty big backlash from charging online I imagine. But compared to M$ they look like saints, now compare them to themselves this gen and not so much since on the PS3 you can still play online for free.kuraimenseriously.
had sony not bytch slapped ms in the last 5 mins of the presentation we would have been calling this sony e3 2006 part 2.
they showed what?
2 games that had not been seen not counting the indies?
tbo i'm a bit bummed that the biggest reaction from the crowd all night long was the news you get to do what you want with the property you buy.

This is why a little part of me was hoping that Sony would start charging for online multiplayer , because if we're paying to play online, then that puts some much needed "accountability" on Sony, if anything goes awry. As much as we loved free online multiplayer on the ps3, most of us knew that if anything went wrong, we really couldn't hold Sony responsible because we never payed a single penny to play online. Just like that breach that happened in 2011. While Sony happily repented their mistake with the PSN breach, by giving us free games, they really didn't have to do that because we didn't pay to play, and was given to us in more af an "added bonus" deal.Quote from Sonys Kaz Hiri, "Damn! this thing is actually going to sell!"http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=586956

there not being any consequences to cheating and the like always kept me off there.
after all you could be the douchebaggiest cheater on there and the worst that would happen is you get booted and have to make a new account (which actually never happened to hardly anyone because complaints were never investigated.
now if you have people to watch the players and they lose money by getting booted out of psn you will see a more legit environment to play games in.

I don't even have PSN+ yet, however, I'll be getting it before the ps4 releases.I need to get my pre-order in very soon.... I just called my favorite gamespot and the manager said "Yes we are taking PS4 pre-orders now, but I have a meeting tomorrow with the regional manager, because it sounds like we are going to be limited to the number we can reserve... pre-orders are off the charts and production might not meet the demand, so if you want one pre-order now." I told him I could pre-order in two weeks and he kind of did a half laugh and said... "you better keep yiour options open man" I asked him what he meant and he said that if pre-orders are limited they had to be getting close to their max number because they have already set personal store records with the most pre-orders for a console. I asked if the other stores were the same, and he said my best bet if I couldn't get my pre-order in there or at the other location was a spot an hour and a half south of me in a little town... :( I'm hoping there is not a cap... SONY better start kicking those sob's out... My pre-order will be in soon.. maybe I should ancel my preorder for TLoU... :o Damn... hard decision, but a good hard decision to have :)

I didn't say it was worse. I just said it was bad, just like MS this gen. Sony over estimated how bad people would want a PS3. MS is doing the exact same thing. This was a given, since Sony is actually thinking with their brain again and not their d*ck.
When Sony has their eye on the ball they're pretty much unstoppable in the console market. PS3 was just plain arrogance.
you better hurry, i had some friends that worked at gamestop back in the day and when the 360 and ps3s came out back in the day there was not one store in my area that got more than  20 of either console.I need to get my pre-order in very soon.... Would it be so bad to wait?
NOT at ALL. Â
With PS2 I waited for a while, with PS3 I waited till PS3 Slim launched for 299.99, I was going to wait this time as well but for the first time I pre-ordered.Â
WHY what made the difference for me.... PSN+ Â I have it now, its great. They will have games for PS4 free, maybe not AAA games but games non the less. PSN games... Ganki for PS2 games.... SO I though $400.00 how long will I have to wait till they drop the price 2-3 years? Depending how well it sells.
I think its going to sell Great for years to come. SO I just made a bet that it would be better THIS time around to get it early. Maybe in 2 years I will wish I had waited, but that is a chance I am willing to take.Â

Wow... he said they already had over 160 pre-orders in just a couple days (town of 5,000).... plus they had like 900 people on their first to know list (I'm not saying surrounding towns were not part of that number though). People are going to be pissed because he said he had a feeling that pre-orders may have to be divided among the local Gamestops to cover demand issues by the time this was all said and done... I remember that happened with the Wii there too... there was a huge crowd that found out they didn't have the consoles in stock and they had to tke their receipt to another location... Luckily I was near the front of the line. This is one of the few times it sucks to live in a smaller area.... lol
**edit** he wouldn't give me exact numbers, but I tried to ask how many X1's were pre-ordered and he said well I don't know for sure but it's doing ok too. I said how is it doing in comparison and he laughed and said "a few people have showed some interest.".. LMAO
