WarCraft III

I still love this game, I played on battle.net last night after installing it today and it's still addictive. If you understand the game it's really fun.

Definitely one of the best PC games still, even the graphics are still pretty good.

Who agrees? 

is currently my main game, play it every night, simply awesome, best RTS currently

but now i wouldnt mind switch to Starcraft 2, SC1 feels really ancient now, not the gameplay(thats kickass) , just the prsentation, its a 640x480 game from 10 years ago for christ sake  

Yeah, the hero plays an important role.

The upkeep can be annoying, but I usually stick to 50/90 or less and I I'll micromanige my army really well.

I do, I think its one of the best RTS games ever made, and I have not played many games as balanced, well made and just plain fun and cool as it since SC and it's expansion.

I am playing Homeworld 2 now though, and it seems like a good contender for the "My favorite RTS" title. :P

I never got into it.

My three favorite RTS' are Age of Mythology, Battle for Middle-Earth II, and Supreme Commander.

Of honorable mention are CoH, AoEIII, and a few others.

I don't have C&C3 yet, sadly. :(

WCIII is last on my list though.  Too much rpg action for me.  I play rts for the strategy, not the rpg stuff.

Even though Spore is delayed. :( Cheer up. Empire Earth III will probably deliver some strategy goodness outside of the RTS box.TekkenMaster606

I always hated how it took so long to build up an army, just to see them get slaughtered in seconds.  The units died so annoyingly fast.  But then, i never played it that much, so i probably just didn't know what i was doing. :P

The game has a tutorial where you play as Orcs for like 2 levels.

That will get you on the right footing.

As for strategy itself, do what makes sense. ;)

Warcraft is still going strong, and I still play it from time to time.

But, Starcraft will always be it's older better brother.

The Warcraft series is much older, but I thought we were talking about the 3rd installment. 

Starcraft as a game is their best RTS.  The only edge i would give WC3 is the hero addition which I love.  If they combine Starcraft with Hero's, there would be no doubt in my mind that it would be their best.

Well if you obtain it without paying, then yeah. But in all honesty, I took my friends illegal copy. Also, if you already bought thegame already, then downloading it should not be illegal, I think.
