Forget all of those talks about an HD-DVD 360, because why will it matter if HD-DVD is going to lose. Today Warner Bros. (the leader in ALL high definition disk sales) announced that they will exclusively back Blu-ray from this point onward.

The format war is as good as done. This will effect gaming in a huge way, because the PS3 will most likely sell more due to the built in Blu-Ray player.

this could be big, we will have to see what other movie studios that support both now will do.

probly not. how many people actually have HD players, other than ps3 owners, many of whom dont even know the ps3 has a blu-ray player? my guess is very few, especially considering the majority of people dont even have HDTV. "format wars" havent even started, and even when they do, the only ones who will honestly care are the companies and stockholders.

I think it's stupid for anyone to buy a high def video player. No one knows who exactly will win. Might as well wait to see who comes out on top, then buy one (not to mention they'll be cheaper).

very true. This is actually why Warner did this. They want to end the format war, so more people can adopt them. People dont want to spend a lot of money on a player if they dont know if it will win

its will be interesting to see what MS announces Sunday, because if they do announce the "Ultimate", then it may not sell well at all

Did any one read the other articles on the reason why Warner Company decided to do this? It's because if the HD war rages on then it might just fizzle out entirely. No one will adopt either of them and some better will come along, like digital distribution.

Warner just wants to end the fight asap so it can start convincing people to buy more products. Too bad there's not really a demand for HD movies. (Thank you DVDs!!!)

i mentioned this in one of my earlier posts. There might be a demand once the format war ends. There is a huge demand for HDTVs right now

HD was doomed as soon as Sony got involved with Blu-Ray, because not only does Sony have there electronics media division but they also own there own movie studios and have a good amount of stocks in other studios. This will out weigh any other types of media in the long run includeing the porn industry.

You do know you can buy HDTV's for cheap now right? There's plenty of budget companies out there which create perfectly acceptable t.v's. As for the hd players, you can get an hd player around $150 and a blu ray at $299.
