With all the hate I wonder if there was ever a game that received very little criticism.

Obviously not a game that everyone liked, but back in their time you'd be hard pressed to find gamers that didn't like..
Street Fighter 2
Super Mario Bros.
SMB3
Punch Out
Sonic 2
Super Mario World
Donkey Kong Country.
^
Those games just clicked with everyone it seems. Street Fighter never got hate until Mortal Kombat fanboys became a thing. Most Sega and Nintendo fanboys were able to look past the bullshit and appreciate both Mario and Sonic at the time.
ff7
OOT
super mario bro 3
stuff like that
FF7 had haters from day 1. Massive amounts actually.
OoT was mostly well liked.
SMB3 is the only one of those that was really just loved by everyone.
Bioshock perhaps?
I think any game post-16-bit-era probably won't cut it lol.
Things were just different back then.
@ghostwarrior786: @blackace: Yeah, I have to agree with both of you.
I think most classic games are the ones that most people will all enjoy.
Everyone secretly liked Planescape Torment. The ones who said they didn't later admitted they were lying and sneakily played it when nobody was looking.
Nobody hates the Zelda games.
I thought they were boring. Wii Sports can f*** off too.
The most universally loved game ever made is
This IMHO. There's something not right with you if you're hating on NBA Jam T.E.
Was there ever a even game that everybody played?
Some people like games because they are deep, or because they are shallow.
Some people like games because they have a story, or because they don't have a story.
Hell, some people like games solely because they are exclusive to their favorite platform.
The most universally loved game ever made is
I remember the kids at school bickering about which version was better between the snes and genesis.
It's perfectly fair for people to not like all games, in fact I don't think it's possible to have it any other way.
