In software sales it has, nothing on PSP will ever sell the amount Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will. I guarantee it. If GTA can't sell like it's console brethren, don't expect MGS, or FF too.
On a side note, I don't think the PSPs around the world will suddenly implode, and cause a massive chain reaction to all nearby PSPs around the world. If we go by "destroyed" as in the competition's winner is clear, than yes. Nintendo surely has a tight vice grip on the handheld war, and I can't see Sony breaking loose anytime soon.
One game cannot stop productions of a console, only thing it can do is slow sales of the competing console. Unfortunately, DS seems it doesn't ned the help of any game at this point....

SOMEBODY is taking things far to literally. Come on, you're really just grasping for straws here, the DS sold at a FIVE TO ONE ratio to the PSP in Japan for a good 2 or 3 monthes. I think that can count as "destroy" in the marketing sense.
No the new Pokemon games weren't made to kill the PSP, they where made for all the DS owners to enjoy. You really shouldn't read into it any more that that. It seems you are mistakin others opinions as facts. Just because some guffy fanboys says they are going to kill the PSP, doesn't all of a sudden make that the reason the games were made. All about the gameplay. To be honest, I don't think most (me included) DS owners think much about the PSP. I know that it rarely enters my thought process throughout the day.

The SALES death of the PSP. The DS pulled ahead when Diamond and Pearl were released. Phantom Hourglass, Dragon Sword, and Revenant Wings will continue to take DS sales to new heights.

That is indeed correct; however, the prophecy foretells of 4 noble warriors who must wield The Sword of a Thousand Truths in order to vanquish the evil that is the PSP, and Sony Corporation of America. As a perk, it also gives you +21 stamina, and +28 attack power. :P

Ugh, they didn't mean it would actually stop PSP production. They just ment that that was the last bit insurence needed to make sure the PSP would never come out on top.
