I really hope this game turns out to be good. I really enjoyed seeing the multiplayer hacking mechanic that I saw at Comic Con last year. It really was a cool feature and I don't get into GTA so I am looking for a good open world game.
I am too. I have it all reserved and ready to go. So now let's just hope all this time wasn't wasted for nothin.
after new trailer i lost all interest from this game how much they downgradge it. typical ubisoft.
This isn't a discussion about the "downgrade" this is a discussion about length. So stay on topic please.
inb4 "teh downgrade" !
Anyway how much padding can one expect (as open world games are known to do).
35 hours is pretty long. But the driving may not be as tedius as GTA's since Watch Dogs has mild Vehicular Stealth. Dodging Cops and Choppers maybe more fun than GTA's attempt to make driving less of a chore by listening to gangsters talk nonsense.
i have a little mixed feelings about this game. there are a bunch of interesting mechanics, but i'm not sure how far they can ultimately carry this whole game. will need reviews.

so how length make it good?
sure its 30 hour according to developer but in reality it will be 15 hour game. plus it can turn out bad since developers abondon thier early build that show at E3 2012 and reworking this game as generic action game...
Who said length would make it good?
Watch Dogs was on my PS4 launch list before the delay. I can't say I am still as excited as I was then, but I am still looking forward to it. Length sounds good for the type of game. Still day 1.

Proof? All I see is a bunch of uneducated assumptions. Have you played the game before?
I bet it will be repetitive like Assassins Creed...no thanks. After GTAV I'm done with open world games.
35 to 40 hours isn't bad and they reckon 100 hours total game play, that's about a much as I spent playing Skyrim.
Still haven't seen anything to make me pre-order though, so I'll probably wait for a few reviews and PC gameplay videos to surface before buying it.
It will be watered down garbage for junior high students just like Assassin's Creed.
Ubisoft has it;'s ups and downs but I think they make solid games. Black flag was pretty decent and Far cry 3 was a homerun

ah..! i couldn't quite find the right words, but yes, that is the vibe i'm getting from this game too. thank you, sir.

What does this even mean? You have to be a kid to play this game? Watered down garbage?
Where did you buy your crystal ball from?
Im not particularly excited for watch dogs either but claiming its watered down (which is meaningless) is silly without playing the title. Not to mention AC Black Flag is an extremely entertaining game.
This is still on my "buy" list, but that is very dependent on how it reviews. Also is this supposed to be 35-40 of main mission story? If so that would be pretty remarkable considering most open world games have main stories between 15-20 hours. I put over 60 hours into ACIV so Ubisoft is still good in my eyes.
I think all the footage we saw of this game is scripted. All the random events they talked about are just scripted events that trigger when the player is nearby like GTA V, at least that's what I think.
Not getting my hopes up for this game, It might be a let down just like The Last Of Us and GTA V.
I always find that developer estimates regarding length are always off but quite a bit, so I'll believe it when I see it. Still a day one purchase though, haters be damned.
Does anyone have any info on the Graphical Quality of the PC version, hope it isn't as gimped
Improved (in ways) since 2012 E3, and can render at native 4K. Looking forward to seeing it, personally. Even 1080p with 4x SSAA should look incredible.
Sleeping Dogs (PC) is still the best looking (unmodded) open world game, so it will be interesting to see if Watch Dogs can dethrone it.

I have nothing against Ubisoft in general, just Assassin's Creed series. I know Black Flag supposedly fixed some things and turned them around, I don't deny it. I am yet to play Far Cry 3 (it's there on my HDD, as a part of my backlog), however.
The amount of time I can spend with a game is only relevant if I am having fun.
I just hope its a fun open world game with lots of side activities... You see what I usually do in a open world game is shoot things or drive things and when I don't want to shoot I drive things into the things that I don't want to shoot.

Far cry 3 was really a surprise.
All hail long story games!!
Oh by the way, those bitching about the downgrade of Watchdogs, it's pretty obvious by now that the E3 2012 gameplay footage was done on a high-end gaming PC on max settings. The developers have promised that on the PS4 the game will look like the E3 2013 footage that was shown, now yes, it's still a downgrade from 2012 but it still looks very nice for a console game. I suggest those to check out that 2013 footage (not the latest footage that was shown). If it ends up looking like that I'll be a very happy man.
The delay really killed off any interest for this game. I actually forgot it existed until that crappy story trailer came out.
