Watch Dogs will be 30FPS on PS4 and Xbox One, 720p or 1080p still unconfirmed

Watch Dogs will run at 30FPS on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, creative director Jonathan Morin has told VideoGamer.com.

"Right now the frame rate we're focussing on [is] a steady 30[FPS]," said Morin speaking to us at Eurogamer Expo this afternoon. "There's always a balance, especially for open world, between the simulation and the rest.

"I think for where we are, the most important thing is the steadiness and [ensuring] that it's always capped the same so when you play it it feels right."

Despite confirming the frame rate, though, Morin could not confirm the game's native resolution on next-gen platforms, claiming that he didn't know whether the game would run at 720p or 1080p.

Well, we'll see how smooth it runs when there are 1000's of gamers on their servers. Forza 5 will have 24 players online at Native 1080P @60fps. So it can definitely be done on both systems. It's all up to the devs really.

These 3rd party launch titles are not going to be impressive at all graphically. They will get the hang of things as the new gen moves along though.

Exactly. Plus with 30FPS you can enjoy the frames better since there aren't that many per second which in the end will mean you can enjoy the game more.

PlayStation Entertainment System = 1080p/30FPS = High Detail and low FPS to enjoy all the detail.

Xboners = 720p/900p/30FPS = Low Detail and High FPS, aka the worst of both worlds.

This is very dissapointing, especially since I've preordered a PS4. Well, at least the PS4 exclusives will be up to par. Killzone: Shadow Fall is 1080P 60 FPS (most of the time) during multiplayer, which is great. 

I'm pretty sure SONY's other first party developers will be able to maintain this standard.
