Microsoft has released the launch trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider--and it does not disappoint. The video is set to an original song--"I Shall Rise"--by Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O. Expect to hear it not only in this launch trailer, but also in Microsoft's upcoming worldwide TV advertising campaign.

O earned an Academy Award nomination for "Moon Song," the track she wrote for Spike Jonze's Her. She's also written music for Where the Wild Things Are and was behind that eerie cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" featured in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

"I Shall Rise" is available now on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and other digital music services. It's the first song she's ever written for a video game.

"They wanted an emotional song that captures the intensity of the moment Lara Croft transforms into the Tomb Raider, the theme of a young woman becoming an icon," O said in a statement. "I was very intrigued by the challenge and I guess I was amidst a significant transformation of my own being pregnant at the time I wrote it. Now that I have a brought a life into the world I have no trouble relating to a character like Lara's who pushes past her own limits to prevail under extreme circumstances."

O added that "I Shall Rise" is something of a "less groovy" nod to Gloria Gaynor's famous tune, "I Will Survive."

"I'm excited by the artistry of video games; they're inspired," O said. "It's no surprise that there's a whole culture of kids who just like to watch people play them. There's plenty of storyline, character, and tone to sink your teeth into. Writing a song for the game felt pretty much like writing a song for a film. I had a lot of fun writing for it."

The Rise of the Tomb Raider release date is set in for November 10 across Xbox One and Xbox 360, while the PC and PlayStation 4 versions launch in 2016. For more, check out GameSpot's recent interview with Rise of the Tomb Raider writer Rhianna Pratchett.

Good song (I like Yeah Yeah Yeahs) very boring trailer. The game might be a lot better than this trailer looks though, I mean the last one they did was even more boring than this one lol.

Suddenly I don't care about this game anymore....but yeah nice trailer....too busy enjoying the hell out of H5 right now but I will say it is nice seeing something cinematic for a change, I think XOne portfolio could use another game or 2 like this

I can't wait for the game.....But did they literally take the plot of uncharted 2 and swap it around a bit with the whole immortality thing?

TBH, next year is looking so much better for games since there has been so many sequels and yeah from some of my favorite franchises but soooo looking forward to more fresh stuff like QB, Scalebound, Recore and Sea of Thieves etc. There's just nothing like playing a spanking new IP for the first time not knowing what to expect. Here's hoping they deliver the gaming goodness.

Since I gotta wait for the PC release of ROTTR, makes my game time management a bit easier.

Im just not feeling this game at all... Doesnt look impressive, its trying too hard, wants to be Uncharted so bad.

At the end of the day I want it to be good (tho I didnt enjoy the first one at all) because I want more great games on my PS4.

Nice trailer btw. I'm just gonna watch the full entire cinematics Rise of the Tomb Raider on youtube cause I have absolutely no intention of buying the console versions and will wait for PC. Plus, Fallout 4 baby. That game will keep me on my toes for awhile.

The music is great in my opinion. Vert well done by Karen O. The game is looking more epic every time I see it. Lots of tombs to explore is seems.

Hhhmm.. Uncharted 4 looks pretty epic as well. Which lems are saying that game is crap? Both games are definitely must buy to me. The only complaints on UC4 that I've seem was the MP portion because it was 900P and didn't have dedicated servers. This doesn't bother me much, as I probably won't play the MP mode of UC4 that much anyways.

Looking forward to it getting released on PC next year.

Lara really is a murdering psychopath though, I wonder what the body count will be?

More like 8.5 out of 10 metascore. That's what I expect. Similar to first game as it doesn't seem to be big step up in any way.

Hmmm... Graphics King 2016? Not so sure about that, Squadron 42 should be out next year, if not Star Citizen.

Yeah, at least the money bought them an amazing 360 and Xbox One version, that no version holds back the other.

Yeah, I love how this game is so visually improved over the previous TR, and that game really shined at times. Especially on PC.

There are many greatness with PlayStation; once greatness arrive, another appears.

Gamespot gave Diablo 2 8.5/10 as well and it was considered as best ARPG ever made and continued to be best in its genre for over 12 years. Meh, who cares.

This looks great, I don't know how anyone could not be excited for this game. It's ironic that all the cows around here call this an Uncharted clone, don't like it and want nothing to do with it; yet they're praising to the gods about another Uncharted game, and not an Uncharted clone...

All games copy eachother.

I mean why would a game not copy something that works in other games.

I remember GTA-clone being a thing for the longest time. And now it seems open world games are coming out every week or so.

Strange how things go. Once upon a time Uncharted copied Tomb Raider, then Tomb Raider cop... No, screw this. Who cares ?

The point is they're ragging on this for being too much like Uncharted but then they praise Uncharted, it's beyond stupid...

Not waiting. I own both systems and a decent PC. Getting Fallout 4 as well. I would never wait a whole year for a game if I didn't have to. Bad enough we have to wait years for The Last Guardian, Rime and No Man's Sky. Still waiting, cause there's no other choice.

Because they are jealous. ND delayed Uncharted so they could downgrade the graphics some more, and you get to play an awesome looking game next month.
