I think as it stands now it mght be Wii then 360 then PS3.

I used to think it will end up being PS3, Wii, 360 in the end but honestly now I really dont know. I think MS has the chance of atleast being second if not 1st if they want it bad enough. I think buying T2, even though it would be different from buying rare and harder, it still is a big enough deal to me as the only way you could play on the console atleast would be 360 and the GTA is ginormous aling with other T2 stuff to add on top of it

Honestly PS3 sales compared to 360 sales when they first came out for first three months...the PS3 should be selling double what the 360 did as a minimum IMO. With their huge PS2 base. The 360 launch was a crappy launch and they only came out thay year early just to sell as much as they can without really any serious effort and without their big guns like Halo 3.

PS1 lasted for ALMOST 10 years, and PS2 has been out for 7 years, and it's still as strong as ever. 

Although I am a Sony fan, this is faulty logic.   That last month sales figures for the PS3 shows that the whole "PS3 is outselling the 360 during same time periods" is now done.   The 360 never dropped below 200,000 units a month while the PS3 is readily available (although not in my city) and has still dropped below 200,000.

Just because PS3s predecessors were successful doesn't mean PS3 will be. Look at the amount of untils the Saturn and Dreamcast sold at launch, and how long did they last? If Sony can't shift the units at launch, or afterwards then they're in for a very tough 2nd and 3rd year (if they make it that far). No sales = No games (why would dev's want to produce a game for a system that isn't selling?), no games begs the question, why would a gamer want it? Guess what..... The Playstation name was built on games and that's what most people will buy it for! The PS1 and PS2 were successful because they had games.

Launch figures can't just be brushed off, especially when they are for the most "highly anticipated" console of this gen. Sony had an incredibly poor launch and if they continue to lose games like DMC4 and maybe even FF then they haven't got a snowballs chance in hell.

Dreamcast sold pretty well at launch actually.

And PS3 will have PLENTY of BIG exclusive titles.

Don't forget, Sony is the 3rd largest games publisher in the world, behind EA and THQ.

They have more BIG franchises than Nintendo and MS put together.

And Sony has better 3rd party support than Ninteno also.

You can count on them having almost every major multi-plat that is announced.

Here's the flat out truth.

The MAJORITY of people around the world that are interested in buying a console WANT a PS3.

They just WON'T get one right now becuase it's too damned expensive.

What does that mean?

It means that some people will go get an Xbox 360. Some will get a Wii, yes. But MOST people will just wait, and play thier PS2s until PS3 gets a price drop. Or until an irresistable game comes out that they HAVE to get.

And that's why the console wars this generation will be alot different from last gen.

PS3 won't sell as much as PS2, simply because of the amount of people who went to get a Wii or 360 before PS3 gets a price drop.

But PS3 will easily outsell Xbox 360 worldwide. PS3 does what it does better than Xbox 360.

Wii will easily come in first place, becuase it's expanding the market and making it more accesable to more types of people.

PS3 HAS sold more than Xbox 360 in it's first 4 months. But it's not a significant amount more.

 it's probably something like 20,000 more or something.

But still, comparing launch numbers is a COMPLETE waste of time.

The 1st problem with the "The PS3 is selling faster than the x360 at this point" argument is that the x360 is out-selling the PS3 NOW with no signs of that changing. Any possible ground the PS3 is supposedly gaining on the x360 is being offset by the sales of the x360 NOW.

The other problem with the argument is that Feb07 NPD numbers showed the PS3 being outsold by a whopping 101k units. The x360 sold 160k units in Feb06. Technically, the PS3 still has a "lead" of 40k at this point, but if March07 turns out like Feb07, then the PS3's "lead" will no longer exist.

PS3 will help bring Blue-Ray to be a media standard. It will sell around 80 Million at the end of it's lifecycle (which will be quite a bit longer than the other two consoles BTW)

And Xbox 360 will increase market share over the OG Xbox. It will probably double Xboxes numbers actually. I say around 50 Million. Can MS really ask for more? I think that DURING the time Xbox 360 is in the market it will outsell PS3 until the very end of Xbox 360a cycle, and PS3 will go on after 360 for a few more years.

Nintendo doesn't need to worry about selling systems right now.  Their competitors do.

you know, this argument was getting pretty good until this last part.  Sony fans don't worry.  just wait 2 years, then get a PS3.  Forget that the 360 will have a dozen AAA's with games like Halo3, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, etc.  "remember, we are all still only playing PS2s, and not gonna give our hard earned dollars to a evil corp like Microsoft."

If the war ended 3-4 years form now I would agree with the order , but I would never count out the ps3 in the end because I think it is going to sell well even 6-7 years from now.

If Nintendo needs a sales spike, they just release a game called "Wii such-and-such".  You'll probably think it's crap, but it'll keep the Wiis moving.

Nintendo doesn't need to worry about selling systems right now.  Their competitors do.

That is what i am talking about, people eventually will be bored of such games, and turn to 360, the next cheapest alternative

360 is clearly first, Wii has run out of system sellers, will stop selling good soon, PS3 is selling worst than 360 worldwide, so will ALWAYS be 10 million sales behind, 360 has YET to show the real big EXCLUSIVE guns like Halo 3 !!!!!!!!!!!!, Too Human, Ninja Gaiden 2, Alan Wake, Lost Odyssey,Mass Effect!!!!, Bioshock, Fable 2 !!!!!!!!!!!, Infinite Undiscovery, Elveon, Shivering Isles, Two Worlds, Overlord, Precursors, Eternal Sonata, Cry On, Blue Dragon, Project Offset etc etc etc

So 360 first by millions

PS3 second when people realise how much of a garbage Wii is

Wii third and dies after no games are any good, that is already happening

The Wii's dieing... that's why GS ran that article about it being sold out in the US and UK...

And don't forget, japan is a HUGE contributor to overall worldwide sales.

And PS3 is the only one benefiting from that market in a significant way.
