We all know why GTA was delayed

Its common sense people. Microsoft payed Rockstar to release GTA 4 next year so that Halo 3 could have a chance against GTA 4. Putting Halo 3 up against GTA 4 is suicidal and MS knows this. Microsoft is evil which I like :twisted:

On the other hand, I really wanted to play GTA 4 this year :cry:

Hmmm .... no. Why would MS care for competition on their own platform.

I'd agree to what one of the analysts said in GS news ... that there was a problem with coding for the PS3 and because of contractoral agreements saying the PS3 and 360 versions were to be released the same day, they had to delay both versions ...

While I wouldn't say putting Halo 3 up against gta is suicidal ,cos Halo could hold its own against most new releases,it is a perfectly viable reason to delayGTA and get Halo 3 the most exposure possible, and one which I've never considered untill now.

HAHAHAHA.... No, just no. Does MS own Take 2 or Rockstar? No? So why would those two companies want to lose millions of dollars in stock value just to make MS and Bungie happy?? Why would PS3 owners not buy GTA because of Halo 3? The delay of GTA has NOTHING to do with Halo 3, nothing at all.

GTA was delayed because they are having problems with a very ambitious game and two very different platforms. You could say "GTA was delayed because the 360 uses DVD and doesn't have an HDD standard" and that would be a good argument. BUT you could also say "the PS3 is hard to develop for, and it's taking longer than they expected to make it work" and that would also be a good argument. There is probably some truth to both of them.

Yeah. With GTA4 and Halo 3 on the same system this year the two biggest games this holiday (big as in being smacked across the face with adds and hype) would be on the same system.

Making getting a 360 over a PS3 a no brain-er for a lot of people.

There is now way MS would want to sell more hardware. Oh wait.

I think the delay is because getting the game to run on two different platforms is proving more difficult than they thought.

Sure GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas had all come out on the date they were announced, but all those games were made for one platform first, then ported over months later.

however i am placing the blame on manhunt 2 having to get changed for the delay in gta.

They were obviously hoping for more cash coming in around now, but thanks to manhunt getting banned they maybe dont have the cash flow to finish gta for this year o.o

I don't agree with anyone besides the fact that they need more time to get the game done, regardless if its because of the 360 or PS3.

now if you guys want to throw conspiracy theories around, why does it have to be Microsoft paying or making anyone delay anything? why does microsoft have to be afraid of GTA?

Halo will launch a whole month before GTA! a whole month for Halo to continue gaining momentum with gamers and the industry itself with halo walkthroughs, videos on you tube etc etc... so in that case can't anyone say that Rockstar is the one who is afraid? that they delayed the game so they don't have to run into a game that will sell in the millions, unless it bombs of course but why would rockstar take that chance?

see I don't think thats the reason either, but conspiracy theories are just that, stories people make up cause they don't know the truth!
