He gave 10 years of his life for us!!! he gave bad, fair, unfair great not great whatever u wanna call it, but he gave us happiness and sadness!!!! his reviews were only his opinions and not a fact! he got fired cus 1 review and now we don't care? we just forget about it?

GAMESPOT and CNET fired him cus MONEY comes first for them, Their value of its employees are wortless when a Company puts money on the table to promote its game!

U.S.A is a free land and we r free to speak, he speaked his mind and he got fired cus it!!! Greatness GAMESPOT credibility just fall out flat in the table, and told us this " MONEY COMES FIRST, B4 OUR EMPLOYESS" GREATNESS@

This is for the game maker!!! " Don't expect magoes when u plant papayas! if u want a better review then make a good game/

im out and probably get banned, but who cares, when u see a person taht worked 10 years and took it for the team got fired cus MONEY was in the middle is sad!!! AMERICA IS BETTER THAN THAT!

I cancelled my paid account out of principle. I was planning on it awhile ago, but I loved the site so I wanted to support them. Now, I'm simply disgusted so I will be spending my time doing what I love most and what Jeff loves doing, playing games. That's probably what he was doing that night. I would.

That's because they sell positive reviews to the highest bidder and more often then not MS is the highest bidder.

I can't really stand for Jeff as i don't really know what's going on ok?
I'm hearing rumours, and conspiracies, but what if that's not true?
Reviewers get fired sometimes, just like other people.
And it always sucks.
And it's usually to save money that people get fired.
Now i'm not all pro this 'money first' thing, hehe, but maybe this wasn't just about the money.
I just need to know a bit more before taking some wild action.
A word from Jeff or gamespot, for example.

to everyone in the past that i have ever blasted for not believing me that gamespot is in fact, one way or another, BIASED (moresoe than any other site/mag)...

I have the distinct pleasure of saying...

IN YOUR FACE!

ooooh... man that feels ggooooooooooooooood!

while back to the topic, i would cancel my account, but i don't look at this site at all really for reviews, more for their coverage and videos, i give the reviews they give out here with a grain of salt. i mean, look at the assassins creed review, other sites weren't too kind to it, egm/1up is the place i go for un-biased reviews, they tell the truth and don't buy into "selling out", they gave that game a 7.0, which means i will not buy it because i know for certain the game is at best mediocre and overhyped, just read the reader reviews, it's completely polar from people who drink gamespot kool-aid to those who can think for themselves. i mean... COME ON PEOPLE!

he got fired because he gave an unfavorable review of Kane and Lynch. Eidos was not too happy about it so they told CNET/GS to kick him to the curb, even after 10 years at the site

go read the review on the site, there is an asterisk * next to the review because certain aspects of the original "review" where "updated" and the ability to submit your own reader review has been disabled.

I really don't understand how firing Jeff does anything for gamespot. Unless Eidos said "Fire that reviewer or we'll never advertise on your site again"

Maybe what Penny-Arcade said was right, they needed to set an example for other employees:

"it's the firm belief internally that Jeff was sacrificed. And it had to be Jeff, at least, we believe, precisely because of his stature and longevity. It made for a dramatic public execution that left the editorial staff in disarray. Would that it were only about the 6.0 - at least then you'd know how to score something if you wanted to keep your Goddamned job. No, this was worse: the more nebulous "tone" would be the guide. I assume it was designed to terrify them. "

Hey if you guys wanna leave ill do it, I just dont see the point or the affect of me leaving quietly. If people are willing to leave as a group, a big group, then a statement will be made. Let me know if you guys want to do that.....

These people get money for playing games. Maybe not much but enough so they can live a decent life. If you are in that type of position of course you're going to cave in to companie's wims to add a few points here and there. Many of you don't understand that there exists a thing called a job and you can't just up and quit something out of principle.
