So, guns and blood make mature games? Oh, Brave New World....There is no place for kiddy and cartoony Nintendo games in this industry anymore.
If you don't agree, go play with your Fisher Price toy.

Should Hollywood stop making G and PG movies too? Because they are targeted at young audiences? That's ridiculous. Gaming is a business like any other entertainment medium. If there is a market for "cartoony" games, you better believe someone will be there to make and sell them.

You only need those,
until they start getting stale and the next big guns come up.
and from the looks of things, Uncharted, Gears of War, Halo, and God of War are already losing their touch.
Meanwhile, everyone else is looking forward to the next Pokemon and Zelda.
Sony is pretty good about creating new IP every gen so I am not too worried as far a variety goes. Just last gen they had Resistance, Infamous, Little Big Planet, Starhawk, Modnation Racer, PS All Stars, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, The Last of Us, and Beyond: Two Souls
The problem is, all of those 'new' IPs were creatively bankrupt, capitalizing or banking on existing trends. Like I said in the other thread: People who hate Nintendo secretly like Nintendo :oops:bbkkristianAdmittedly, I used to love Nintendo from the NES-N64 era. I don't hate them now, I just think they are handling the Wii U horribly so I'm naturally going to bash the hell out of them (as I would with Sony or MS as well)
What we need is for Nintendo to go back to their roots.Murderstyle75
That's funny because many other people criticize Nintendo for NOT leaving their roots (releasing alot of Mario and pokemon games, etc.)

what's even funnier is that the Wii was more on Nintendo's Roots than any other Nintendo console (catering to casuals).
[QUOTE="BPoole96"]The problem is, all of those 'new' IPs were creatively bankrupt, capitalizing or banking on existing trends. The only legitimately different stuff from Sony was LittleBigPlanet and the David Cage stuff. The variety is still there though and they are quality games. And there aren't really any games like Infamous where you play as a superhero type protagonist that isn't based off of a preexisting comic. Modnation also allowed tons of player creativity with track customizations. I can't think of any of game that allowed the amount of track customization on consoles (Trackmania for PC may beat it). I can't properly comment on TLOU since it isn't officially out but it looks like a pretty unique game as well.Sony is pretty good about creating new IP every gen so I am not too worried as far a variety goes. The Variety is also there for Nintendo.
Only thing is that most of Nintendo's games are from Old IPs which for some reason people think is a bad thing. When really a New IP in this day and age can be just New Frosting on the same Cookie.
The new Devil May Cry game could have easily been a new IP, change the names of some characters and the title and everyone would have thought it was a New IP.
Uncharted made everyone rethink of Tomb Raider and well look what happened to Tomb Raider.
and Infamous? The Entire game for some reason I felt like I was playing the Spiderman game I've been waiting for yet I wasn't swinging with Web, I was flying with Electricity.

Doesn't Nintendo do this as well? Isn't every 3D Mario platformer pretty much built upon the previous game?
What about Zelda? The same structure goes from game to game.
Pokemon? Start with one Pokemon, catch and train more, earn badges, defeat the final four. Same concept every time.
Just to note, I am not saying that Sony fills Nintendo's void, I was mainly addressing that Sony does make new IP since the TC tried to make it like all Sony did was rehash the same games over and over.

The thing is, Zelda and Mario try and incorporate new concepts in each game. Pokemon is a rehash, no excuses. I'm not saying Sony's approach is better than Nintendo's, or vice versa. I'm saying both have their own, non overlapping bubbles. I think we actually just agree lolSheep damage control thread. System Wars has always been Sheep Damage Control.
You're kidding me right? TBH I've had enough of sheep talking about how great the Wii is when it can't even do well in a poll against a simple xbox or ps3. If anything its always sheep acting like Nintendo is what other game companies should be like. I see the same boring **** everyday.[QUOTE="shadowchronicle"]

On the other hand you have sheep who have no idea what it means for a console to fail in sales or the like. I feel like when the Wii U did poorly in sales is when sheep started to realize Nintendo isn't all that great.

Cows acknowledging Sony loses something? All I ever see them do is get a hard on for Kaz and then proceed to circlejerk eachother.
Sheep are no worse or better than other fanboys. They are just as awful as the others.

Cows acknowledging Sony loses something? All I ever see them do is get a hard on for Kaz and then proceed to circlejerk eachother.Personally, from my experience I think sheep are the worst faction out of all the factions when it comes to things like pride/confidence. Sure its natural only for sheep to think that way after years of success with Nintendo. Everyone brags to a degree but I think sheep just do it a lot in general. I'm not really confined to one faction and I can see it pretty clearly. Outside of SW Nintendo fans are just like every other fanbase but when you go in here its just: Oh my god.. If the PS3 did as well as the Wii and the Wii did as well as the PS3 last gen I bet cows would act a lot like sheep.Sheep are no worse or better than other fanboys. They aren't as popular on other systems. You can find all those cartoony games as well as platformers on every system.

Maybe. To be fair there are more cows than sheep here, so maybe I just get more annoyed by their shenanigens since they have more of a presence here, atleast from what I see. Then again alot of the cows here could just be trolls/alts while many sheep probably actually believe what they say, so there is that too.
Meh, I think it's just easier to say they're all dumb.

I do see a lot of that but I tend to ignore it because a lot of it I know is alts.
