Were they? Me I have a PS3 and love it.and it has better exclusives (IMO). But I like Xbox Live better than PS3 and dont mind paying. So were friends a factor in purchasing the console you bought. That is like the last factor in choosing whether to keep my PS3 and play the better exclusives and play withcool people i met online(IMO), or to switch to Xbox 360 and enjoy the good exclusives they have but play with the bettter online experience(once again IMO.i just dont want to get flamed and crap) and play with ALOT of my friends from school(some of them are my best friends). I could just buy an Xbox 360, but in my eyes, they are kinda similiar. So were friends a factor in choosing the console you chose? This is mainly for Single console owners(they're barely are some) but I guess Multiplatform owners could answer also.

Thank in advance

well the Wii was my own thought out thing from over a year ago... but this year (well 08), my friend was talking about getting a PS3, and he said it was "time to move on" which i felt was right so now I have a PS3 lol. most people at my school have a 360, but i figured since iv'e always played the ps2 and never owned an xbox i wasnt going to bother with it, and honestly, i hate the controler.

I am an adult with a job and a family to tend to as well as feeding my gaming cravings. And most of my friends are the same way. So, it is very occasional that i will be able to play with them online. That is why friends played no role in what console I chose. I could see if you were young and gamed a lot after school when most of your friends would be doing the same. Thats a little different story. But as most know, following others like sheep (not a reference to Wii owners) is not a wise thing to do.

if i had rich friends who could afford a next gen console and games it probably would

but since i like games where anyone can just play it and not get cheesed by the pro who owns the game, i'm happy with my wii

the 360 purchase was more like.. making up for my video card dying.. multiplayer gaming was not really a factor except for when it comes down to which platform has more co op games.. so in that aspect yes technically i purchased a 360 over a ps3 because of multiplayer, but not so much friends who owned a system and begged me to get the same as them

Nope, got them at alunch.

Though I generally buy multiplats and online game son the ps3 since my friends have ps3's, so it makes sense to get games to play with them.

Not really. I've always gotten all off the consoles of a given generation since the Colecovision days. But what my friends do influence, especially this gen with online is how much I will game on a particular platform. I've spent a lot of time playing the 360 because it has the largest active friends list. But I still use my other platforms quite a bit.

Nope, I was the first one to make the jump to next gen, with the Ps3 and the Ds, leaving our beloved gba and ps2 in the past

absolutely, all my friends have 360s and they're all on XBL. I also have a PS3 but whenever I go on there, I have only 5 friends online a most.

Nope, not at all. All of m friends were PS2 fans with no interest in the "new" 360. I bought the 360 anyway and then they all came ove and tried it. Now they all own 360's as well and no intention of buying a PS3. Now I have a PS3 also and only 2 of my friends have one. The Wii I bought at launch with no influence from my friends at all.

It wasn't a major factor but it was the one that made get a PS3 first. Most of my friends play Socom so when it was announced to come out in Nov07(before it got delayed to 08), I made the jump to the PS3 1st knowing that they'll all one.
