That's a negative trait.
Example: Nintendo reached the casual press (new york times) and in general reached further marketing press than Sony or Microsoft. Nintendo had a winning strategy for E3 and it worked. Your just easily influenced by the judgement of your peers if that made you squirm.
No. E3 was that bad. I'm not even sure it was that great for the casuals, Wii music will not captivate them the way Wii Fit did imo, and the new Wii Sports is not going to sell 20 million more Wii's. The motion + thing (which I thought was pretty cool) seems more aimed at us core gamers, but they're tying it to a casual game.
And frankly, how long will the casual trend last in gaming? Nintendo can't have this approach forever, its called the law of diminishing returns. Casuals tend to herd to something that attracts them but then quickly move on to the next thing. You don't see people lining up twice to see a Michael Bay movie, how long will all these people stick with the Wii? Perhaps the flock will move away from gaming again and we can go back to the way things were. And then a new Kid Icarus or Punch Out won't be so far from our reach as they seem right now.
